Das Fort von Jaisalmer ist ein lebendiges städtisches Zentrum, in dessen Mauern etwa 3000 Menschen leben. Es ist wabenförmig mit engen verwinkelten Gassen, gesäumt von Häusern und Tempeln - zusammen mit einer großen Anzahl von Kunsthandwerksgeschäften, Pensionen und Restaurants. Sie betreten das Fort von Osten in der Nähe von Gopa Chowk und passieren vier massive Tore auf der Zick-Zack-Route zum oberen Abschnitt. Das letzte Tor öffnet sich zum Platz, der das Zentrum der Festung bildet, Dashera Chowk.
Die Jain-Tempel sind einer der ältesten Tempel in Jaisalmer und befinden sich im Jaisalmer-Fort-Komplex. Diese Jain-Tempel sind die wichtigsten religiösen Attraktionen in Jaisalmer. Insgesamt gibt es sieben Jain-Tempel, die im 12. und 15. Jahrhundert nach Christus erbaut wurden. Diese Jain-Tempel sind verschiedenen Jain-Tirthankar gewidmet. Unter diesen Tempeln ist der größte der Parsvanath-Tempel und am attraktivsten; andere sind der Chandraprabhu-Tempel, der Rishabdev-Tempel, der Shitalnath-Tempel, der Kunthanath-Tempel und der Shantinath-Tempel.
Dieses schöne Havli befindet sich im Herzen der Stadt in kleinen Gassen. Privatbesitzende Haveli aus dem 19. Jahrhundert, bekannt für kunstvolle Außenschnitzereien und einzigartige Architektur.
Der größte Fisch im Haveli-Teich (traditionelle, kunstvoll dekorierte Residenz) ist Patwa-ki-Haveli, der über eine schmale Gasse ragt und dessen kompliziertes Mauerwerk wie honigfarbene Spitze wirkt. Es ist in fünf Abschnitte unterteilt und wurde zwischen 1800 und 1860 von fünf Jain-Brüdern erbaut, die ihr Vermögen mit Brokat und Schmuck machten. Von außen ist alles sehr beeindruckend. Der erste der fünf Abschnitte, das Patwa-ki-Haveli-Museum in Privatbesitz von Kothari, erinnert jedoch reich an das Leben des 19. Jahrhunderts und ist der einzige, für den es sich lohnt, Eintritt zu zahlen. Andere Bereiche umfassen zwei weitgehend leere staatseigene "Museen" und zwei private Bereiche mit Geschäften.
Der Gadi Sagar See liegt südlich der Stadt Jaisalmer. Gadi Sagar, ein Regenwassersee von Jaisalmer, liegt inmitten einer ruhigen und kühlen Umgebung. Dieser Sylvan-See ist von unzähligen Tempeln und heiligen Schreinen umgeben. Das Wasser dieses Sees ist kristallklar. In diesem See können Wassersportarten wie Bootfahren betrieben werden. Es hält die Wasserversorgung der gesamten Stadt. Zahlreiche Zugvögel strömen um den See. Es gibt auch einen berühmten Krishna-Tempel, der auf dem gelben Sandsteintor errichtet wurde.
Die Kenotaphen hier sind die fabelhaftesten Bauwerke in Jaisalmer und eine der wichtigsten Touristenattraktionen. Vyas Chhatri ist dem Weisen Vyas gewidmet, der das epische Gedicht Mahabharata geschrieben hat. Er hat wunderschöne Denkmäler und ist ein Einäscherungsplatz für Brahmanen. Die Kenotaphen aus gelbem Sandstein sind auf erhöhten Plattformen gebaut, mit aufwendig gestalteten Chhatris auf fein gemeißelten Säulen. Sie sind ein eindrucksvolles Beispiel für Rajasthani-Architektur. Auf einem Hügel erbaut, konnte man in der Ferne das Goldene Fort von Jaisalmer und faszinierende Ausblicke auf den Sonnenuntergang sehen.

It was an amazing day with our guide Marvin to tour Jaisalmer. He was really really knowledgeable and explained everything in details! We visited popular place in Jaisalmer like Fort, Jain Temple and patwon ki haveli. Best part of this tour was a beautiful sunset with large golden fort view. Always smiling and happy to answer our questions! Really recommend this tour!

Jaisalmer is a beautiful place. I took help from DIH for a day tour of the Golden city along with a guide. Mr. Sharma assisted me through the tour. We been to Jaisalmer Fort, Patwo ki haweli, Kuldhara, local market etc. They arranged transport as well as necessary permits. The guide was quite knowledgeable, patient and kind. I had a great experience taking this tour with DIH. I also further took their assistance to get my accommodation and adventure sport services in Sam desert. The stay was comfortable, hygienic with great food. I will surely take their services for my Udaipur and Jodhpur trip as they specialise in Rajasthan tours.

I travelled to Rajasthan for 10 days in Feb 23. It was a family tour across Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer. We got this trip planned by DIH. They managed every single requirement from this trip. Stay, food, travel vehicle, tickets, shopping, hotel etc was managed as per our expectations. I am happy that I tried their services. I am quite satisfied and would recommend it to all who love to travel but don’t want to hustle with the planning of it. They did an amazing job, and helped us the real vibe of Rajasthan which I might have missed if I would have gone through some big travel aggregator platform. Highly recommended.

DIH is a one stop shop for all your travel needs, literally. It was referred to me by one of my friends. So, I thought to try them for a customised travel itinerary. I did a Delhi, Agra and Jaipur tour with them and some of my friends from Canada joined me on this trip. So, we requested for a custom, offbeat trip for ourselves. It was a 10 days road trip and we had the best time of our lives during this trip. We were 7 people and DIH managed all the travel, stay, food, and day visits to monuments. We started from Delhi and were picked up by a traveller vehicle along with a trip manager cum guide and a driver who travelled with us through this trip. Jaisalmer was a beautiful city in Rajasthan. It was a family visit to Jaisalmer. It was a 3 day long trip covering the city and one night at Sam desert. DIH organized my travel tickets, hotel stay and a beautiful camp stay as per my requirement. DIH gave us a guide to visit all monuments in Jaisalmer and he explained everything quite nicely. I loved the whole experience of being on this trip. Payment terms were quite transparent with DIH, you may pay via online transfer, cash, cheque. The booking amount was give 50% at the time of the booking and 100% before leaving from Jaisalmer. I love Rajasthan and cnt wait to come again to explore the other cities.

I did my Jaipur tour with Delightful India Holidays in Jan 2023. It was a great experience overall. They arranged day tour to Amber Palace, Jantar Mantar, Patrika Gate, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Nahargarh Fort. The trip was divided in 4 days as I wanted to visit most of the places and not rush it. DIH arranged my stay in beautiful property in the heart of the town. The best part was the hospitality, people and sanitised accommodation. Rajasthan trip with DIH A friend recommend DIH for travel related bookings. They were know to have travel services across India, however I tried them for Jaisalmer trip. It was a family trip and DIH helped us to prepare a travel plan including best things to explore in the city. They helped us with local guide, vehicle for city travel, hotel, camp bookings. We also enjoyed many adventure activities in the desert 🌵with the help of DIH. The arrangements done by the team was good and well coordinated. I didn't have to worry about anything. Fascinating day trip Jaisalmer city I planned my Jaisalmer trip with the help of DIH team. They were quick to understand my requirements and interest areas while travelling to the city. The day trip in the city was amazing and informative. All thanks to our guide Kamal. We liked their services and did our booking through DIG only. I got amazing property to stay in Jaisalmer city along with a beautiful camp site in the Sam desert. Food at the camp was authentic Rajasthani taste. Camp had various activities which were liked by children like dance, games etc. Highly recommend DIH for making travel arrangements.
