Unsere Reise beginnt mit einer Fahrt ins Herz der Stadt Falmouth. Die Einheimischen sind dafür bekannt, Mode mit allen Speisen der Saison zu "meken", so dass Sie eine Vielzahl von Gerichten wie Ackee (wenn in der Saison) und Salzfisch, Krabben / Hummer (wenn in der Saison), jamaikanische Rindfleischpasteten, Hühnerpasteten, Kokosbrot und Rindfleisch mit roter Erbsensuppe probieren können. Während der Tour werden wir die Geschichte der Lebensmittel diskutieren, sie ist aktuell in unserer Gesellschaft und die Zutaten und Prozesse, die wir zum Kochen verwenden. Wir machen auch einen Stopp im KFC, um den beliebtesten amerikanischen Fastfood-Hotspot zu probieren, der von der jamaikanischen Masse übernommen wurde. „Road Crabby“ ist ein spielerischer Begriff, der den provisorischen Stand eines jamaikanischen Straßenhändlers beschreibt, der frisch gefangene und gewürzte Krabben verkauft. Normalerweise findet man diese Händler an Küstenstraßen oder in der Nähe von Fischerdörfern. Sie bauen kleine, rustikale Stände auf oder breiten einfach eine Decke am Straßenrand aus, um ihre Beute zu präsentieren.
Bei unserem Stopp hier können Sie das weltberühmte jamaikanische Fastfood probieren, das die Einheimischen zum Frühstück, Mittag- oder Abendessen genießen. Pastetchen sind ein Grundnahrungsmittel in der alltäglichen jamaikanischen Ernährung.

We recently vacationed in Jamaica and stayed at a lovely resort, but we knew that we also wanted to book some off-resort excursions so that we could experience Jamaica from a locals perspective. Das was the perfect tour guide! We absolutely loved that this was a private tour and it was nice getting to be able to talk with Das one-on-one vs being lost in a crowd. 1. We visited KFC (which we were shocked about because we didn’t realize how big of thing KFC is in Jamaica) and WOW, let me tell you - one bite and it immediately took us back to the KFC in the US back in the 90s when their chicken used to taste like that. Soooooo sooooo good! 2. Next up with Juici Patties! Let’s just say I’ve had Jamaican patties before - but never anything that tasted like these. We got the chicken, beef, and the cheese - and they were all a 10/10. Zero notes!!!! Sooo good that I took some back to the resort to eat later in the day…..and they were just as good then as they were during our first bite. 3. Lastly, we went to Out A Road Crabby and even though we are now back in the U.S. I can still taste the food from this lovely local gem. The broth in the soup we had is something that I will never forget. The next time I’m in Jamaica - the moment I get off the plane, I’m going straight to Out A Road Crabby. Das, THANK YOU for taking such good care of us. We enjoyed our time with you and we wish you nothing but continued success. Everyone reading this - just go ahead and book this tour, you won’t be sorry!!!

Went in the food tour with Mama G and she took us to 3 wonderful places to eat local cuisine! She also gave us a tour of the sites.
