Beschreibung der Fassade und ihrer Geschichte
Die Abtei Saint-Ouen in Rouen ist eines der Hauptdenkmäler der Stadt Rouen; seine Abteikirche ist ein vollendetes Beispiel gotischer Architektur in der Normandie. Die Abtei ist Gegenstand einer Klassifizierung als historische Denkmäler durch die Liste von 1840
L'aître Saint-Maclou ist ein ehemaliges Massengrab aus dem 16. Jahrhundert in der Rue de Martainville 186 in Rouen, Frankreich. Es ist eines der seltenen Beispiele für ein solches Beinhaus, das in Europa überlebt hat. Der Saint-Maclou ist Gegenstand einer Klassifizierung als historische Denkmäler durch die Liste von 1862
Die Gros-Horloge ist eines der emblematischen Monumente der Stadt Rouen. Das an einen Glockenturm angebaute Gebäude besteht aus einem Renaissancebogen, der die Rue du Gros-Horloge überspannt und von einer astronomischen Uhr aus dem 14. Jahrhundert überragt wird.
Es war auf diesem Platz, in der Mitte des Hundertjährigen Krieges , dass Jeanne d'Arc am 30. Mai 1431. Der Ort lebendig verbrannt wurde, als Jeanne d'Arc es sehen konnte, nicht ähneln , was es war. Ist heute. Der Platz war kleiner und wurde von der Kirche Saint-Sauveur, der Kirche Saint-Michel und einer großen Markthalle eingenommen. Es war auch der übliche Ort der Hinrichtungen. An der Stelle des Scheiterhaufens wurde ein großes Kreuz errichtet. In der Mitte des Platzes wurden die Überreste der alten Kirche Saint-Sauveur ausgegraben. In dieser bescheidenen Pfarrkirche wurde Pierre Corneille getauft, sein Geburtshaus in der Rue de la Pie, das heute in ein Museum umgewandelt wurde, befindet sich in der Nähe. We had a wonderful small-group walking tour of Rouen with Ludovic. His English was excellent, and he was joyful, enthusiastic, and so knowledgeable throughout the tour. He made the history of Rouen come alive while keeping everything fun and engaging. Ludovic made sure we had plenty of time to take photos at all the important spots, and he even offered to take pictures of us along the way. He asked questions, kept the group involved, and made the experience feel personal and memorable. This is the first thing everyone should do when they arrive in Rouen. It’s the perfect introduction to the city, and Ludovic was an outstanding guide!
This was a terrific guided walk of historical Rouen. Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging and had some great stories ( and quizzes) along the way. It was a very small group, which gave opportunity for asking questions. Most enjoyable!
More than two hours of informative, varied walks punctuated by small anachronistic moments, revealing the city in unique and original aspects. Ludovic's personality and energy contribute greatly to this experience. We were a group of 6 young seniors, and the moment was unique. Kudos to Ludovic. We recommend the visit and the guide!
