Apollo und Daphne – eine Marmorskulptur im Barockstil in Lebensgröße, geschaffen vom italienischen Künstler Gian Lorenzo Bernini und fertiggestellt in den Jahren 1622–1625. Dieses Werk, das in der Galleria Borghese in Rom zu sehen ist, stellt den Höhepunkt der Geschichte von Apollo und Daphne (Phoebe und Daphne) in Ovids „Metamorphosen“ dar.
„Pauline Bonaparte als Venus Victrix“ (oder „Die siegreiche Venus“) ist eine halbnackte, lebensgroße Porträtskulptur im neoklassizistischen Stil des italienischen Bildhauers Antonio Canova. Es wurde von Pauline Bonapartes Ehemann Camillo Borghese in Auftrag gegeben und zwischen 1805 und 1808 in Rom geschaffen, nachdem sie den Vertreter der Familie Borghese geheiratet hatte. Anschließend gelangte die Skulptur zunächst in Camillos Haus in Turin, dann nach Genua und kam erst um 1838 in die Galleria Borghese.
Die beiden Büsten von Kardinal Scipione Borghese sind Porträtplastiken aus Marmor, die Gian Lorenzo Bernini im Jahr 1632 schuf. Beide Versionen des Porträts befinden sich in der Galleria Borghese in Rom.
„Die von der Zeit enthüllte Wahrheit“ ist eine Marmorskulptur von Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Es entstand zwischen 1646 und 1652. Der Künstler wollte die Wahrheit allegorisch darstellen, als nackte junge Frau, die von einer über ihr stehenden Zeitgestalt enthüllt wird. Eine Zeitfigur wurde jedoch nie geschaffen. Bernini gelang es, seine Idee durch die Hinzufügung der Figur im Jahr 1665 zum Ausdruck zu bringen.
„David“ ist eine lebensgroße Marmorskulptur von Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Kardinal Scipione Borghese gab es in Auftrag, um die Galleria Borghese zu schmücken. Das Meisterwerk entstand in sieben Monaten, von 1623 bis 1624. Das Hauptmotiv der Skulptur ist der biblische David, der gerade dabei ist, den Stein zu werfen, der Goliath zu Fall bringen wird, woraufhin David ihn enthaupten kann.

This company was well organized and communicative. The greeters were welcoming and friendly. Our tour guide Martina was incredibly knowledgeable, charming and inclusive. So grateful.
We arranged a small group guided tour at the Borghese Gallery for our group of 6 and all agreed it was the most incredible experience so far! What a treat it was to tour this beautiful museum in such uncrowded spaces (due to the strict time limit) and absolutely soak in the stunning beautify of it all! We learned so much from our incredible guide Martina (so sorry none of us could quite remember her name, but we all remember her kindness and knowledge and easy way of guiding us through the masterpieces). We came away six new fans of Bernini! An absolute must see when in Rome.

This tour was amazing. Our guide had so much knowledge and made the 2 hour tour very interesting. She shared really interesting details regarding the relationship between pieces of art in a single space and the rich history of the papal family. Highly recommended! Even my teen boys loved it.

Nice collection, the Berninis are spectacular. Tour took a full 2 hours but not much time to stop and admire, and skipped some rooms or moved quickly. But plenty of time with sculptures and Caravaggios. Good tour guide.

Our guide Alessandra was excellent. She was friendly, engaging and extremely knowledgeable. Through her expertise, she conveyed not just the factual information about the magnificent sculptures and paintings, but also the colourful stories behind them.
