Amazing experience! Had a fantastic time with our guide Raj, his assistant guide and the fabulous team of porters. They made sure we were all well looked after and safe at high altitude. Could not recommend more highly
Amazing experience!! Our guide Raj was fantastic, alongside his assistant guide and a fabulous team of porters. They made sure we were kept safe at high altitude, and made it a once in a lifetime experience!
I loved every second of it! Ended up on a solo trip with my excellent guide who listened to my needs at all times and helped me when I was in need. I never felt alone but actually found a family. The high passes trek is challenging but rewarding and so is Island Peak. Highly recommended!!
My group did EBC + cho la pass + Gokyo lake for 12 days. We were guided by Nimesh, who is very knowledgeable on the hike/mountains and very attentive to our needs. We felt safe with Nimesh, he always believe in us and encouraged us . We are willing to push on even though we are exhausted because we too believe in ourselves that we can do it ! Nimesh is patient with our queries and the daily briefing helps to mental prep us on what to expect everyday . Greatest appreciation to Ace for assigning one of the best guide to our hike!
We had a fantastic trip with Ace the Himalaya to Everest Base Camp and Island Peak. From the very beginning, everything was taken care of and we were provided with everything we needed, which made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. Raj was an excellent guide—knowledgeable, skilled, and highly experienced. He was approachable, friendly, and had a fantastic sense of humour. He gave us great advice throughout the trek, always looking out for our safety and helping us make the best decisions along the way. His support and encouragement made a real difference, especially during the more challenging sections. Our porter was fantastic—friendly, dependable, and always willing to lend a hand. We felt well looked after the entire time and would highly recommend Ace the Himalaya to anyone planning a trek in Nepal.
This review is solely based on Ace the Himalayas and not on the EBC trek itself. I found them to be very professional, they sorted everything out for us such as hotel, flights, permits, accommodation on the trek, meals, best methods to acclimatise, the geography of the area and some local history. They were fun and friendly. Raj was our personal guide as we were also doing Island Peak and he did an excellent job, but all guides pulled together to ensure that all clients needs were catered for where possible. Raj was very flexible with our dates and was able to change our accomodation and flights out of Lukla at short notice as we were faster on the descent than the recommended checkpoints. Thanks Raj for getting me to basecamp when my previous attempt ended poorly at Dingboche due to acclimatisation issues with another operator.
I would like to sincerely thank our entire expedition team for taking such good care of us during the EBC + Island Peak expedition. Rajkumar (guide) took great care of us throughout the trip, especially when we suffered from food poisoning. He also helped lead the way back to Chukhung in the evening after Narayan and Pemba, when my headlamp was running out of batteries, ensuring that I returned safely. Overall, Rajkumar did an excellent job coordinating the team and looking after everyone along the journey. Narayan (porter) went far beyond what was expected. When we ran out of water on the way back from Island Peak, he carried water up for me, helped carry backpacks on especially exhausting days, and patiently waited for me when I was dealing with AMS. Even give me a hand when he see me slip. His kindness and quiet support were incredibly reassuring during some very tough moments. Pemba (climbing guide) played a crucial role in our successful summit. Even when we encountered unexpected situations during the climb, he stayed calm, and highly professional. Thanks to his experience and guidance, I was still able to reach the summit of Island Peak. His judgment and decision-making on the mountain truly made a difference. Overall, this was a very caring, responsible, and supportive team. They didn’t just focus on reaching the goal, but genuinely cared about our safety and well-being. I would highly recommend them to anyone planning a trek or expedition with this team.
I was so nervous about this trip! I booked as a solo female traveler, not knowing anyone on the trip or staff, and was determined to do Island peak. Not only was I looking for a top notch experience... but I wanted to ensure proper safety precautions of my team and know that my money was supporting a local company and local guides. I had been in Nepal for a total of 5 months volunteering with local organizations. They knew I was nervous and wanted to travel safely and ethically. It was these local companies that confidently insisted I book with Ace the Himalaya. From then on I knew I was in good hands. I want to extend a massive thank you to Pasang (our fantastic guide) who got us safely to Base Camp and the summit of Island Peak. If you have the ability, make sure to request him and Sauman too -- they absolutely made my experience. They go above and beyond to explain the significance of their culture, food, and will even give you some language lessons if you're keen. It was a huge bonus for me. Big shout out to our incredibly strong sherpa team too Bishal, Subharaj and Sukbir (wow! they make it look easy). I will definitely return.
It was the first time in my life that I had gone over 6000m. 1100m above sea level from Island Peak base camp. I'm always the slowest person even climbing summer mountains. That’s why I decided to try winter mountains. After two-thirds of the way up, I felt like I had already run out of energy and climbed super slow. Fortunately, our guide is Pemba, who has been taken to Island Peak more than 500 times. The summit was blessed with clear skies and no wind conditions. I've never been so tired in my life. It was an experience I will never forget.
Wonderful experience. Enjoyed every day and moment. Even the super tough days that took everything you had. The Himalayas are beautiful. The culture of Nepal; and the Sherpa people especially are a generous, kind, hard working, and truly remarkable people. The world is a better place with them. We were well taken of at all times even when in extremely remote areas. There’s no 5 star resort deep in the mountains, but we were taken care of to best of ACE’s ability. If there was an issue they took the best care of us. Extra climbing guides were brought in for Island Peak and it made me feel much so much safer with the experience they brought to the table. Including Everest and K2 summits. Pasang, Subharaj, and Sukbir I want to thank personally for making the trip the wonderful unforgettable experience it was.
