I recommend this tour if you want to learn about the food you’re ordering while visiting and about how this food fits into the culture of the locals in Baku and outside the city. Out guide Gani shared his personal stories of the types of food we enjoyed on the tour while sharing information about the culture of Azerbaijan. Having a guide made the food even more enjoyable for the rest of our time in Azerbaijan.
I really enjoyed this tour with our guide Gani. We had a full meal at a local restaurant followed by wine, street food, dessert, and tea. It was a great introduction to Baku as we walked around the city center. I recommend it!
This was fantastic. The guide was so knowledgeable and attentive and helpful. The food was incredible. It was fun and educational and all soooo delicious. One of the best of these I’ve done
Eldar was an excellent host who was very knowledgeable about Azerbaijan and the surrounding area's history. We had great conversation over a good amount of well picked food. The 4 venues all offered something different and it was nice to see different parts of Baku. Eldar went above and beyond to help us with the rest of our Baku trip too. We'd definitely recommend.
We highly recommend this food and wine tour! Gani is a fantastic tour guide. He had an answer for everything. We learned lots about the history of Baku and their food. We also got to see parts of the city that we had not yet explored. The best part were the street food sandwiches we had! I highly recommend booking this tour during your stay in Baku.
TripAdvisor is requesting I review this tour because I booked through the site. I was really looking forward to it. Instead, on the day of the tour, I got an auto email saying it was canceled because there were not enough people (it would just be me). I would've appreciated advance notice so that I could've planned accordingly and picked another tour. Also, for a price tag of $120, I would've expected at least SOMETHING to be pulled together (I did get a refund). Definitely disappointed and not sure why they even let me book as a solo person if they wouldn't take just me. Wish I had received advanced notice.
Dear Madam, We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment caused by the cancellation of your tour. We understand how frustrating it must have been to receive such late notice, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Our system should have prevented you from booking a solo tour as we require a minimum number of participants to operate the tour. Unfortunately, there seems to have been an error in this case. We are taking immediate steps to rectify this issue and prevent it from happening again. We understand your frustration regarding the lack of alternative options. We strive to provide our guests with a seamless experience and will review our communication protocols to ensure timely notifications in case of cancellations. Thank you again for your feedback. We hope our guest will consider giving us another opportunity to provide you with an exceptional experience. Sincerely, Gani Nasirov.
This tour was an amazing blend of food, wine, history and culture. Our tour guide Gani (who is a very accomplished and extremely knowledgeable gentleman by the way) selected food appropriate for our group and it was such a well curated spread of Azherbaijani food - items we would never have known or tried on our own. We totally loved the food stop. The wine stop was at a quaint wine outlet the vibe was amazing, the wines were very nice but best was the way Gani explained to us the food and wine interspersed with relevant history, culture, traditions. Then we had more food and dessert, tea and others. He took his time with us and we felt extremely satisfied at the end of the tour. Loved this tour, Try not to miss this tour, you will not regret!
Gani is a very pleasant and knowledgeable guide, with excellent English. He took us on a tour that presents a full coverage of Baku's eating choices, from restaurants to fancy eateries and street food places. Everything was new and unusual but very tasty. This tour offered us an opportunity to not only taste food but also to talk to the people who cook and serve this food. The tour gave us a feeling of Azerbaijani hospitality and its openness to the world.
- This tour for me was more about culture and a deep insight into the way local Azerbaijanis live and eat. - Hamza was an excellent guide & we had great conversations about local customs & the war they won in Nagorno-Karabakh. - The meals we had were all good , i just wish we had more stops and tastings instead of long sit down meals.
Nice way to spend an afternoon in Baku. Knowledgeable guide. Food is a great entry into understanding a country and culture better.
