This is one of the coolest experiences I've done in Bogotá over the last 16 years of visiting. I never had much interest in buying an emerald, but making your own emerald ring was a great way to spend three hours. Not only did we learn about the history of emeralds in Colombia, but we also came to appreciate the art of crafting custom jewelry. We were guided along the way with true artists in the business who helped us turn an idea into one of the most memorable souvenirs we've brought home from Colombia. The emeralds aren't the highest quality, but they are indeed genuine. It's worth paying a little extra money for a larger or higher quality stone than the one included in the tour price. A great experience, the people were very attentive and willing to help, guiding the best tours. The city has many trees, typical traffic of a capital city. Public transportation is accessible and sufficient.

This tour was so fun and such a unique experience! Nick was an amazing tour guide and incredibly knowledgeable about emeralds and the ring making process. He catered to both English and Spanish speaking attendees and ensured nothing was lost in translation between languages. The jewelers also had a tenure of experience and assisted in every step of the way to ensure a quality product was made in both languages as well. Not only did I love their enthusiasm and expertise, but you really get to get your hands dirty and truly make your own ring. You start with picking out the stone you want and can upgrade sizing for a fee which I thought was well worth it to get a bigger gem. Then you pick your ring style and get to work! Certain styles require different techniques and you can watch the different processes done by each individual to make their ring. You will get to do everything in your own process such as melting the silver, using manual equipment to shape your ring, forging it in fire, and polishing once it’s complete. It was so much fun to learn about the history of emeralds, the ring making process, and experience that process first hand. Thank you to the wonderful guides for helping me make such a beautiful souvenir while providing a great hands on experience. Highly recommend this tour to fill your morning or afternoon!

An excellent experience from start to finish! Nick picked us up right on time and gave us a fascinating introduction to the history and current state of the emerald industry in Colombia. We then visited the workshop, where we had the opportunity to choose both the ring design and the emerald we wanted. The entire team guided us through every step of the process. Everyone was incredibly friendly, professional, and attentive, making the experience both enjoyable and memorable. The final result exceeded all our expectations, and we couldn’t be happier with our ring. This is a truly unique and amazing activity to do in Bogotá, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.
