We met Hamza when our bus stopped for lunch after a four hour climb up to the top of the Atlas Mountains. Even though my wife and I had traveled in many parts of the world, when we landed in Morocco we felt like strangers in a strange land: this was a country ruled by a king; Islamic mosques called its inhabitants to prayers before the sun came up and four more times every day, the last after the sun has gone down; the Arabic language was indecipherable, everything from menus to traffic signs written in what seemed to be meaningless scribbles; and Western media had stuffed our ears with stories of the cruel punishments doled out by a repressive Islamic religion. Hamza's grasp of English, knowledge of Morocco's history and culture and capability in arranging every aspect of our trip from sleeping in inexpensive riads that were resplendent in wood carvings and colorful mosaics, to finding the means to traverse remote legs of our travels where transport seemed impossible, to introducing us to fellow Moroccans who shared their way of life...anything and everything that made our month in Morocco a dream come true. If you are like us, you don't rely much on guides when you travel, but like us you may be full of apprehensions about this Islamic nation in far northern Africa. Hamza's travel services will allay all those fears and leave you with a love for this country as deep as the affection you will feel for your friend, Hamza. My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of taking a private 3 day tour with Hamza. He went over and above my expectations! Hamza was super friendly and took us to the local favorites for mint tea and Tagine. We visited a few medinas where we saw rugs and other shops. He knew how to find everything in the maze of alleyways and the best picturesque spots even taking pictures and videos for us! An amazing but very intense adventure. From the first day to the last it was very eventful, busy, challenging but most of all extremely rewarding. We had no expectations when we started the tour but our expectations were exceeded. We had great weather, stunning scenery, fantastic fellow travelers and fantastic and very helpful tour guides.
