Während dieser Wanderung besichtigen Sie den Tempel in Begleitung unseres sachkundigen Führers. Wir werden auch durch die Umgebung spazieren, wo Sie Mylapore in seinem überfüllten Chaos sehen können. Die Juweliere, Seidenhändler, Obst- und Gemüsehändler und die Blumenverkäufer in den Basaren bilden eine farbenfrohe Kulisse für den Tempel. Die Wanderung führt uns durch kleine Gassen mit alten Häusern, durch Seidengeschäfte, Musikläden und religiöse Erinnerungsstücke, Kutcheri-Auditorien usw. Besuchen Sie den Kapaleeshwara-Tempel, die Santhome-Kirche und spazieren Sie während dieser 3-stündigen Tour durch die Nebenstraßen von Mylapore. Die Tour ist meistens zu Fuß mit einer kurzen Strecke in einer Auto-Rikscha (lokales Tuk-Tuk), die arrangiert und in der Tour enthalten ist, und endet mit südindischen Erfrischungen.

Mylapore ist - und war in gewissem Sinne schon immer - das religiöse und kulturelle Epizentrum des tamilischen Volkes. Das Dorf Mylapore datiert aus Chennai. An diesem alten, florierenden Seehafen stand einst ein großer Shiva-Tempel, bis die Portugiesen Mitte des 16. Jahrhunderts eintrafen. Sie zerstörten den Tempel, gründeten eine portugiesische Kolonie am Ufer und drückten Mylapore in den Küstenbereich, wo es heute noch steht. Der Shiva-Tempel wurde vor 300 Jahren wieder aufgebaut und heißt Kapaleeswara-Tempel. Es ist ein schönes Beispiel für den reinen Dravidian-Stil mit Gopuramen und Mandapams und ist das Epizentrum, um das die Gegend von Mylapore gebaut wird. San Thome Church, auch bekannt als St. Thomas Cathedral Basilica und International Shrine of Saint Thomas, ist eine römisch-katholische Basilika in Santhome in der Stadt Chennai, Indien. Am Ende der Tour halten wir im beliebten Saravana Bhavan Snacks und Kaffee.
