Der Cotopaxi-Nationalpark ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für Ihre Reise nach Ecuador. Er ist einer der höchsten aktiven Vulkane der Welt, neben seiner Kegelform ist er für seine Besucher ein Symbol der Schönheit und Bewunderung. Auf dieser Tour können Sie die Landschaften beobachten, die wirklich bewundernswert sind. Sobald wir den Nationalpark erreicht haben, wandern wir zur Schutzhütte Jose Rivas, die auf 4897 m liegt. Hier werden wir uns ein wenig ausruhen, um neue Energie zu tanken. Sobald dies erledigt ist, wandern wir noch ein Stück weiter, bis wir die Gletscher auf einer Gesamthöhe von 5000 m erreichen. Auf dem Rückweg zum Parkplatz steigen wir zur Limpiopungo-Lagune ab. Sobald wir an der Limpiopungo-Lagune angekommen sind, können wir, wenn das Wetter es zulässt, ein wunderschönes Foto von Cotopaxi machen. Nach dem Besuch der Lagune fahren wir mit dem Bus zum Restaurant, wo wir unser wohlverdientes Mittagessen einnehmen. Nach einem Tag voller Abenteuer machen wir eine Pause und kehren nach Quito zurück.
Wir besuchen die wunderschöne Laguna de Limpiopungo, wir wandern auf ihren Wegen. Wenn das Wetter mitspielt, können wir die Spiegelung von Cotopaxi in der Lagune beobachten.
Wenn das Wetter es zulässt, können wir die Ilinizas beobachten.

I loved the tour, I am a person who likes to climb mountains and this tour meets all the requirements to have a great experience, excellent service, the guide explains everything in such detail that it makes you love Ecuador. I would definitely do it again, very professional.

The price paid by other tour members was 55 usd not 79 as advertised on tripadvisor. Other than that the tour was amazing!

What a day hiking! The views were incredible (at least until the clouds came through) and our guide Kevin was terrific. He was friendly, engaging, knowledgeable and most importantly, patient. Hiking up the steep volcano to the refuge was difficult, but he stayed with us every step of the way, despite our frequent stops. He even let me borrow his hiking poles to make things easier. The stop at the refuge was much needed as we rested and enjoyed some coca tea. We made a quick stop Limpiopungo, but didn’t stay long because it was raining. NOTE: We didn’t bike down on this trip.

There are several companies that offer the tour to get to know the volcano Cotopaxi. I chose the tour of El Barak due to the attention they gave me during my research and also due to its cost. They were super attentive throughout the trip. Local guide and driver who know a lot, and we offered a great and safe experience! The rest is due to nature, and the adrenaline in going down a few kilometers of bicycle to the end. Highly recommended!
