Beginnen Sie Ihren Tag in Chennai im Sri Ramakrishna Math an der RK Mutt Road, wo Sie eine friedliche Atmosphäre für etwa 45 Minuten genießen können. Danach unternehmen Sie einen gemütlichen 45-minütigen Spaziergang entlang des Marina Beach, wo Sie lokale Snacks und die Meeresbrise genießen können. Anschließend besuchen Sie den Shirdi Sai Baba Tempel für weitere 45 Minuten und tauchen in dessen spirituelles Ambiente ein. Anschließend besuchen Sie Fort St. George, wo Sie eine Stunde lang das Kolonialmuseum erkunden können. Wir besuchen eine einzigartige Klosterorganisation namens Ramakrishna Math, die Sri Ramakrishna, dem Heiligen des 19. Jahrhunderts, gewidmet ist. Die Gäste können den Universaltempel, den Schrein, ein wunderschönes Mantapam, ein Multimediamuseum und eine bezaubernde Bibliothek besichtigen.
Wir fahren nach Mylapore, einem alten Wohnviertel von Chennai, dessen Geschichte bis in die Römerzeit zurückreicht, als hier Pfeffer und feine Stoffe gegen Gold mit Rom getauscht wurden! Wir besuchen den prächtigen Kapaleeshwar-Tempel. Dieser im 7. Jahrhundert erbaute Tempel ist dem Gott Shiva gewidmet. Er wurde im dravidischen Stil erbaut und hat ein hoch aufragendes „Gopuram“. Im Inneren des Tempels erwartet die Gäste ein faszinierendes Erlebnis von Ritualen und Gelassenheit. Unser Kulturevangelist wird die Geschehnisse im Tempel entmystifizieren!
Spazieren Sie am Marina Beach entlang, dem 3 km langen Hauptabschnitt des Marina Beach, und Sie kommen an Cricketspielen, Drachensteigen, Wahrsagern, Fischmärkten, Maisröstern und Familien vorbei, die die Meeresbrise genießen.
Dies ist ein Tempel, der Sai Baba gewidmet ist, dem großen Mystiker, der Hindus und Muslime vereinte und universelle Liebe und Brüderlichkeit predigte. Der Tempel ist aus weißem Marmor gebaut und hat eine Lampe, die seit mehr als 100 Jahren leuchtet.
Fort St. George ist die erste englische Festung, die 1644 von der East India Company erbaut wurde. Wir werden St. Mary’s Church besuchen, die älteste anglikanische Kirche Indiens. Unser Kulturevangelist wird Sie in ein malerisches Museum voller Relikte aus der Kolonialzeit führen und Ihnen die Geschichte erzählen, wie sich die East Indian Company von einem Handelsunternehmen zur Herrscherin Indiens entwickelte!
Wir werden das Denkmal für Swami Vivekananda erkunden, der ein großer Philosoph war. Seine Reden beim Weltparlament der Religionen im September 1893 machten ihn als Redner von Gottes Gnaden und als Botschafter indischer Weisheit an die westliche Welt berühmt. Montags ist es geschlossen und wir werden stattdessen das Egmore Museum besuchen.
Wir besuchen die berühmte Basilika San Thome, die Hauptkirche der römisch-katholischen Erzdiözese Madras und Mylapore. Hier können wir Reliquien des Heiligen Thomas sehen. Sie ist eine von nur drei Kirchen auf der Welt, die auf dem Grab eines Apostels errichtet wurden. Die anderen beiden sind der Petersdom im Vatikan und die Kathedrale von Santiago de Compostela in Spanien.
