„Bertie und Aby zeigen Ihnen den Geist und die Vielfalt Argentiniens mit Weinen aus kleiner Produktion und köstlichen regionalen Speisenkombinationen“ Wir sind Bertie und Aby – ein englischer Sommelier und ein argentinischer Koch. 2016 haben wir Wine Discovery gegründet. Bei unseren Verkostungen dreht es sich um Wein, Essen und gute Gesellschaft, alles gemeinsam an einem großen Tisch – auf argentinische Art! Aby kocht seit ihrer Kindheit traditionelle argentinische Gerichte und hilft bei (großen) Familientreffen, und Bertie arbeitet seit 2008 als Sommelier. Gemeinsam möchten wir unser Wissen und unsere Leidenschaft für Argentiniens Wein, Küche und Kultur teilen! Unser Erlebnis ist so konzipiert, dass es jedem Spaß macht – egal, ob Sie sich nur mäßig für Wein interessieren oder ein Experte sind, unsere Weinverkostungen sind eine unterhaltsame und entspannte Angelegenheit! From the moment we arrived, this felt like a personal experience rather than a typical wine tasting. Bertie and Abi tailored the tasting to our interests, taking the time to answer questions and guide us deeper into understanding Argentine wines. The way they introduced wines to highlight subtle differences was both engaging and insightful, without ever feeling overwhelming. The food pairings were outstanding and perfectly matched, elevating each tasting. The setting itself was warm and inviting, more like being welcomed into an Argentinian's home, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and genuine. What really stood out was the care and passion behind it all. This isn’t a corporate or faceless experience — it’s something thoughtfully delivered by people who truly love what they do. Highly recommended.

Superb wine tasting experience! The owners (couple) are professionals in their field and present a comprehensive overview of the wine regions of Argentina, with ample tastings and delicious tapas for each. It is held in their home for only a small group at at time, so very personal. Much better than other wine tastings offered by local wineries or wine shops. It is also an easy and inexpensive Uber ride from just about any of the surrounding tourist areas. Highly, highly recommended. You will not be disappointed.
I've tasted a lot of wine from around the world. This was an unequaled wine tasting. We have tried a bunch of different wines in Argentina, from the market and restaurants, and found them very mixed. Bertie put together an unparalleled collection of wines, showing a variety of regions and grapes. I couldn't help but take some home. Really spectacular choices! Aby's dishes we as good as we've had at Michelin recommended restaurants in the city. Like the wines, they showed a variety of regions and types. We want to go back to learn more from her. Bonny (the dog) was chill but tolerant of petting. Recommended without hesitation!

Long story short, this is a must-do in buenos Aires. Bertie and Aby are amazing hosts. Bertie was clearly knowledgeable about wine and made the tasting very accessible to someone like me who is not so knowledgeable. He explained the history and the geography of the wine regions, and why they were important to the overall taste and feel of the wine. He is very knowledgeable and a great teacher. Aby is an AMAZING chef. She made the most delicious tapas style foods that paired with each wine. They were some of the most delicious snacks we had here so far. She also explained the reasoning for why she made what she did and why it paired with the wines. She is incredible. Overall, cannot recommend this experience enough. It was an incredible experience and worth every penny.
Our family of 4 had a great time at the Christmas Eve wine tasting and food pairing. Bertie introduced us to some fantastic Argentinian wines we’d never encountered before, and Aby is an excellent chef. They even made some special non-alcoholic drinks for our teenage daughters. It was a lovely way to spend an afternoon—highly recommended!

If you like food & wine, this experience is well worth it! Both were thoughtfully presented and decided upon to enhance one another. I learnt a lot about Argentina’s wine, but also the culture and food.
