Das Wandern ist etwas anstrengend. Aber es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall. Sobald Sie den Gipfel erreicht haben, werden Sie feststellen, warum wir das gesagt haben. Der Panoramablick, den es mit Nebel und Wolken über das Gebiet bietet, ist besonders am frühen Morgen und am späten Abend etwas, das Sie miterleben sollten, und das würde ausreichen, um zu sagen, dass Sie Ella besucht haben. Die Gesamtzeit für das Auf- und Absteigen beträgt 4 Stunden. Ja, hört sich nach einer langen Reise an. Aber der Weg dorthin ist voller Vielfalt. Wenn Sie vom Bahnhof Ella aus starten, werden Sie den Schienenweg genießen, und sobald Sie den Aufstieg beginnen, passieren Sie einen Wasserfall, den Gummibaumwald und Teeplantagen. An einem regnerischen Tag kann es rutschig sein, seien Sie also vorsichtig mit dem, was Sie für die Reise tragen. Tragen Sie etwas, das zum Wandern geeignet ist und gegen Ende der Wanderung noch überschaubar ist.

We booked the Sunrise Tour ($30 per person) and it was worth every dollar. Watching the sun rise over Ella Rock was breathtaking. Our guide was friendly, helpful, and knew the best photo spots.
I visited Ella Rock with my friends and it was one of the best experiences of our trip. The hike was enjoyable, and the views from the top were absolutely stunning. Our guide was very professional and focused on safety throughout the journey. He carefully guided us along the trail, making sure everyone stayed together and felt comfortable. Our family had an unforgettable hike to Ella Rock. The trail was a bit challenging, but the beautiful scenery made every step worthwhile. I had a great hike and was so happy to have had a guide based on the reviews and route (you can certainly do the hike without a guide, but a solo female traveler, I wanted the safety). The hike was beautiful and my guide pointed out different plants and animals (we saw several chameleons). I needed to take it slow once we hit the incline, and he was very flexible and patient, allowing me to take whatever breaks I needed. He also took great pictures!

I did the 4am hike with Sam and it was absolutely excellent. He has a calm demeanour, a perfect amount of chitchat for that time in the morning, and shared a lot of interesting knowledge about the crops being grown en route. He was also very considerate & helped guide my feet when I was stumbling, and took us back a different route so I could see the waterfall. The views for sunrise were breathtaking. I was nervous to do this solo, hoping a group would be going, but it was a great experience. It took 4 hours total, with 1 hour sitting at the top watching the sunrise. It's very steep and uneven (tree roots, rocks, mud) going up so beware of this if you're considering it!

The first day we were supposed to be picked up we waited outside from 4:00 AM to 4:45 AM with no communication. After writing and calling the direct number, they finally picked up but continued to have us wait. We then were told the car was broken down, but had to keep asking if that meant we would be going or not. They finally told us it was cancelled and gave us the option for refund or to rebook. We rebooked for the next day and our guide was amazing and very knowledgeable. We had a 7 year old with us and he made sure to help her and give small breaks as needed. The description also states water, tea, coffee, and biscuits when you reach the top for sunset and we were only given bottle of waters. There was no tea or coffee which makes the price more expensive than what we experienced in my opinion. The sunrise and stars were gorgeous and we were also able to see a water fall towards the end of the hike. The overall hike experience and guide was amazing! I don’t fault our guide at all. The lack of communication from the company in not being picked up the first day and the inaccurate description of the experience is why I give it two stars.

Fabulous hike up Ella rock with Shan - we thought it would get cancelled with the rain but to our surprise it didn’t so don’t give up straight away if it’s a bit wet! Shan was great and checked everything was ok and miraculously the rain eased and we were able to go up the rock - and even better we were the only ones there who had bothered to try! So the experience was very special. Shan was friendly, helpful and a very confident guide. He taught us about the local environment and history whilst we hiked, and also let us have moments to ourselves to appreciate the amazing views. Would highly recommend him! Thank you so much Shan.
