Mehren was efficient, on time, polite and helpful. He made sure that I saw everything I needed to see and got me there and back safely and in comfort. He is highly recommended!
This experience did not meet my expectations unfortunately. The tour started when I was met at my hotel by my guide and driver in a car which was in sad shape. It was old, small and cramped. The seat covers were peeling off the back seat and one of the seat belts was broken. It seemed as though this car was never intended to transport people in the back seat and certainly not for a 6 hour RT trip from Cairo. My guide was a young man who was very personable but lacked any specific knowledge of El Alamein and freely admitted this. He functioned more like an escort than real tour guide. The El Alamein Military Museum was excellent and well worth the visit. But I learned more from the exhibits than I did from my escort. At the Commonwealth Cemetery, my escort/guide assured me that German and Italian dead were also buried there. This was false and never more apparent than when we drove up to the German cemetery located a few miles to the west. I would recommend making the trip to El Alamein but I would avoid any tours offered by Koki Travel.
Interesting display of vehicles and guns used by both dides including 2 Canadian made vehicles. The museum laid out the role plaued by each country incliding thr Egyptians. A diarama at the end of the museum showed the battle. A better explanation of the battle and its significance in WW II would have been better
We took a private tour with Rania and driver Imon (SP?) We had a wonderful experience with Rania. She made us feel very comfortable on the long drive to Alexandria. Once we arrived in Alexandria, she took us to the Catacombs, Pompeii's Pillar, The Citaldel, and the library. Her knowledge was impressive, but she didn't overwhelm us with information. We felt like we were spending the day with an old friend. I HIGHLY recommend this tour and encourage requesting Rania as your guide.
This was a great tour with Emo Travels. The Guide Sayed was super nice. He was very sincere in making sure we have a good time in the tour and could see as much as possible. We could not get into the Alexandra library because the Library management called a Half day on our visit day, so our guide Sayed was very sad and tried his best to make it up with a tour to Roman theatre and a Nabi Daniel mosque which was not included in the original tour. We were very pleased at his service and very happy with Emo Travels.
I was a bit nervous to travel alone, but my tour guide, Hala #1 was AMAZING. She was so friendly and flexible. I would recommend anyone visiting Egypt to visit Alexandria first. The ancient ruins were a bit anticlimactic after seeing the grandeur of Luxor, so I would advise anyone to do Alexandria first so you can fully appreciate it. The area and people are lovely and I had a wonderful day. Hala has excellent English speaking skills (the best English of any tour guide I had in Egypt) we danced in the car together and played songs for each other from America and Egypt respectively. She made me so comfortable and called me her 'ukht (sister in Arabic) Hala is a little spitfire. She has the sass and spunk of an east coast big city girl, yet incredible knowledge as a local herself from Giza. I had a tour scheduled for the next day to see the pyramids with my husband and his colleague joining and I called the company and insisted that Hala be our guide. I got to spend two days with this lovely woman who taught me so many things and shared with me her beautiful country and culture and embraced me with love, hospitality and extended kinship. Hala is number one (as she will tell you, and so will her colleagues, and she is) she made my trip so rich and far exceeded my expectations for a tour experience.
