Das Blaue Haus ist die intime Welt von Frida Kahlo. Sie verbrachte den größten Teil ihres Lebens hier, zunächst mit ihrer Familie und Jahre später mit Diego Rivera. An diesem Ort hielten sich interessante Persönlichkeiten aus dem In- und Ausland auf, angezogen von der Anziehungskraft der beiden Maler. Frida und Diego wollten ihr Haus als Museum hinterlassen, damit sich alle Mexikaner daran erfreuen können. Nach dem Tod des Malers übernahm ein Freund des Paares, der Museograf und Dichter Carlos Pellicer, die Gestaltung der Ausstellung. Die Verwaltung wurde der Stiftung der Diego-Rivera- und Frida-Kahlo-Museen übertragen, die der Bank von Mexiko angegliedert ist und 1957 von Rivera selbst gegründet wurde. Seit seiner Einweihung im Juli 1958 werden im Blauen Haus und seinen Gärten persönliche Gegenstände und Gemälde beider Künstler, Volkskunst, präkolumbianische Skulpturen, Fotografien, Dokumente, Bücher und Möbel ausgestellt, die das Umfeld prägten, in dem Frida zu ihren Werken inspiriert wurde.

Easy, and the house was so cool. I recommend it. Make sure to be there early though.
The museum was excellent. The experience with Trip Advisor, not so much. The tickets you sent us did not work at the museum entrance. We had to scramble to find the right ones when we arrived. It was stressful and confusing. Please do not email people “tickets” that are not the actual ticket. I’ll never book another excursion through Trip Advisor.

Guide was very informative throughout the tour. Fluent in both English and Spanish. It was crowded but very interesting to learn about this artist.

Amazing experience. Beautiful house and neighbourhood. I also sketched a painting in her garden. They offer this for just 20 pesos and you take your drawing home with you.

The tickets were much more expensive than the original price, but I had no choice since I didn't book them in advance. I'm glad I went anyway because I had a great time at the Frida Kahlo Museum

Frida Kahlo house was excellent--gave a lot of information regarding her life and her works. Was easy to navigate, gardens were beautiful. There was an exhibit displaying her clothing which was nice to see as well. Viator charged over 3x the museum entrance fee but provided nothing extra. This was all self-guided.

The ticket purchased through Viator shows up in your email as "Frida Kahl Museum Entrance Tickets" with a bar code, and can be saved to Apple Wallet. However, as I learned at the museum entrance, this is just a voucher, not the actual tickets. The museum attendant had to spend time entering codes via my email to try to locate the actual tickets, which she eventually did, although I would not have been able to locate them on my own. I found this process unusually complicated and may have led to me not being able to enter the museum without the attendant's help. Although it worked out, just be extra careful if you purchase "tickets" through Viator.

Fascinating and informative. I was glad to be able to show a little bit of culture to my 10-year-old son. I showed him who Frida was and why she was so important to Mexican culture.
