Die Tradition des Wasserpuppentheaters stammt aus einer Zeit, als Reisfelder überflutet wurden und die Dorfbewohner für Unterhaltung sorgten, indem sie im hüfttiefen Wasser standen und die Puppen über dem Wasser auftraten. Durch die Verwendung großer Stäbe, um die Puppen zu stützen, schien es, als würden sie sich über das Wasser bewegen, wobei die Puppenspieler hinter einem Bildschirm versteckt waren. Diese Tradition ist einzigartig in Nordvietnam, hat aber kürzlich auf den Bühnen der ganzen Welt Berühmtheit erlangt. Daher ist es ein seltenes Vergnügen, die Puppen an ihrem ursprünglichen Ort im Dragon Water Puppet Theatre spielen zu sehen. While purchasing tickets directly at the counter on the day might sometimes offer different seating options, it comes with a high risk of being turned away if the show is full. Great communication from the trip operator and the lady who dropped off the tickets for us . Unfortunately we were in the second row from the back of the theatre (of at least 20 rows) which made viewing difficult . I would check where the seats are before booking as we were disappointed. Having said that the production was excellent .
