Eine Stunde Kulturunterricht in Yangshuo

Wei was so helpful in providing me with a language class. I arrived in China for a short trip (no time for week long classes) and felt overwhelmed and was struggling with language (the owl app just couldn’t cut it!). Having a person to talk with and explain things to me was so helpful. The location was a little hard to find as not on Amaps but with a little piecing together I got there okay it was an easy walk from my hotel and Wei was waiting outside to welcome me. While I wouldn’t usually pay this much, I felt that the experience of having someone to help meet my specific needs was worth the price. Wei also explained some history behind different cultural practices/language use. I really recommend.

<p>This class was one of the highlights of our stay in Yangshuo! Throughout our travels in China, opportunities presented themselves to do a bit of calligraphy here and there. This class, however, was thorough and extremely educational. Wei picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel, and he provided us with the history and cultural importance of calligraphy in China. He taught us several characters, starting with basic strokes and working our way up to more complex characters. Wei provided constructive criticism as necessary, to improve our strokes, despite our inability to actually read any Mandarin! Wei's English is excellent and he gave us all of the translations we needed of the characters we were writing. I highly recommend this class!</p>
