⚠️ Neues Fahrzeug ab März 2026! Hallo lieber Besucher, mein Name ist Arnaud und ich werde Ihr einheimischer Reiseführer durch diese herrliche Provence sein. Heute führe ich Sie von den 5 von mir angebotenen Touren zu den römischen Denkmälern von Pont du Gard, Nîmes und Orange. Die Tour beginnt in Nîmes mit einem kurzen Stopp vor der Maison Carrée, einem ehemaligen römischen Tempel, bevor es zur Audioguide-Tour durch die Arena von Nîmes geht. Hinweis: Von November bis März wird lediglich ein Spaziergang durch die Altstadt von Nîmes angeboten, bei dem die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten besichtigt werden. Anschließend machen wir Halt am Pont du Gard für ein Picknick mit regionalen Produkten von lokalen Bauernhöfen (nur von April bis Oktober) und schlendern dann um den Pont du Gard herum, um die herrliche Aussicht auf dieses Monument zu genießen. Zum Abschluss fahren wir nach Orange, wo wir den Arc de Triomphe besichtigen und an einer Audioguide-Tour durch das majestätische antike Theater teilnehmen. Hinweis: Von November bis März wird die Strecke in umgekehrter Richtung befahren.

Reiseverlauf
Nach einer 45-minütigen Fahrt von Avignon aus, ein Fotostopp vor der Maison Carrée in Nîmes, einem antiken römischen Tempel, der den Enkeln von Kaiser Augustus gewidmet ist. Anschließend sind es noch 15 Minuten Fußweg bis zur Arena von Nîmes.
Audioguide-Tour durch die prächtigen Arenen von Nîmes, die um 100 n. Chr. nach dem Vorbild des Kolosseums in Rom erbaut wurden. Dann noch ein 15-minütiger Fußweg zurück zum Auto und eine etwa 30-minütige Fahrt zum Pont du Gard. Hinweis: Der Besuch der Arenen ist zwischen November und März nicht inbegriffen. Während dieser Zeit werden wir lediglich zu Fuß durch die Stadt gehen, um die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten zu besichtigen.
Nach einem einstündigen Picknick mit Blick auf den Pont du Gard (nur von April bis Oktober) folgt ein Spaziergang um den prächtigen und imposanten Pont du Gard, der Teil eines 52 Kilometer langen römischen Aquädukts zur Wasserversorgung von Nîmes war. Es wurde um das Jahr 50 n. Chr. erbaut. Dann noch eine 30-minütige Fahrt nach Orange.
Fotostopp am Arc de Triomphe in Orange mit anschließendem Anhören von Audioaufnahmen, die die Geschichte des Monuments nachzeichnen. Anschließend noch eine 10-minütige Fahrt zum antiken Theater.
Audioguide-Tour durch das majestätische antike Theater, das um 20 v. Chr. erbaut wurde. Anschließend noch eine etwa 30-minütige Fahrt zurück zum Check-out in Avignon.

Very nice trip. Pont Du Gard was the highlight but Nimes and Orange are also good. Arnaud was very helpful.

Great guide. Well planned day that covered a lot. Loved the Pont du Gard and Orange Theatre best. Authentic lunch but a bit light. Bit squashed with 6 people plus Arlo the guide in the car on a hot day. Overall enjoyed the day. Good value.

Very personalized tour of only 3 guests. The tour guide was very interested in making the tour as enjoyable as possible. The picnic lunch was a pleasant addition to the trip to Pont du Gard. The locations visited were amazing and informative. Loved the tour!
This tour offered some of the best of the best Roman antiquities with the bonus of Provence views! We thought Arnaud laid out the itinerary for Orange, Nîmes and the Pont du Gard perfectly. We could not have accomplished these logistic ourselves nor enjoyed his history lessons along the way. The Arch, Theatres and Amphitheatres were all quite amazing to see. The 2000 year old La Maison Carrée was beautiful. Our lovely picnic at Pont du Gard was lovely and so "Very French"!! Highly recommended.

The sights were worth seeing but the mode of transport was limited and not comfortable. A fairly small car with 6 people and we were stuck in the back with no leg or feet room or much air circulation.
Hello, Thank you for your review and for noticing that I am alone in the company and I have built this business from scratch without any financial aid from the French and European organizations. So you understand why I couldnt’ buy a bus or a van after only 1 year of work. But thanks to your help, I will try to buy something bigger in 1 year or 2, except if the goal of your review is to block people to book my tour and to avoid me to live decently. Anyway, this is not a small car (maybe for your country but here in France we don’t consider it as a small car but a 7-seat car for families). For air circulation in the car, there is something called « window », and guess what, it’s possible to open it! And it’s also possible to ask for more air conditioning. I’ve never bite someone who asked for more air… I mean, not yet! However, you said that the sights were interesting. You should have talked about it instead of developing the negative things (according to what you think but it’s subjective and it’s not what the majority of my clients think). Regards.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day with our amazing guide, Arnaud. This tour included all the places on our "must see" list. The added bonus was the lovely picnic lunch with all locally sourced foods. I highly recommend his tours!!
