Das wichtige Merkmal Wat Lokayasutharam ist ein riesiges liegendes Buddha-Bild namens Phra Bhuddhasaiyart, das nach Osten zeigt. Es wurde aus Ziegeln und Zement im Kunststil der mittleren Ayutthaya-Zeit errichtet. Es ist 37 Meter lang und 8 Meter hoch. Es gibt andere beeindruckende liegende Buddha-Figuren in Ayutthaya, aber dies scheint die größte zu sein.

Wat Mahathat war einer der wichtigsten Tempel von Ayutthaya. Es verwahrte Buddha-Relikte und war der Sitz des Obersten Patriarchen des Buddhismus und damit das Zentrum des Buddhismus im Ayutthaya-Königreich.
1957 wurde die Krypta des Wat Ratchaburana geplündert und viele kostbare Artefakte wie Votivtafeln, goldene königliche Insignien, Edelsteine und Buddha-Figuren wurden gestohlen. Die Diebe wurden gefasst und einige der Schätze geborgen. Ein Jahr später begann die Kunstabteilung mit der Ausgrabung und Restaurierung des Tempels. Es wurden viele weitere unschätzbare Objekte entdeckt, die jetzt in der Nähe ausgestellt werden
Das Museum ist nach Chao Sam Phraya, König von Ayutthaya im 15. Jahrhundert, benannt. Ausgestellt sind mehrere tausend Gegenstände, darunter Buddha-Figuren, Votivtafeln, Goldartefakte und andere Schätze, die aus den Krypten mehrerer Tempel geborgen wurden.
Wat Chaiwatthanaram wurde 1630 von König Prasat Thong erbaut. Es war eines der großartigsten Monumente des Ayutthaya-Königreichs. Der König baute den Tempel als Mittel, um buddhistische Verdienste zu erwerben, und als Denkmal für seine Mutter. Ihre Asche ist in zwei quadratischen Chedis verwahrt, die den Ubosot an der Ostseite des Tempels flankieren.
