Weiter geht es Richtung Süden zur geschäftigen Marktstadt Alnwick, deren größtes Gebäude das mittelalterliche Alnwick Castle* ist. Genießen Sie Zeit im Stadtzentrum oder bleiben Sie im Burgkomplex, wo sich für jeden etwas findet. Alnwick Castle, das seit über 700 Jahren der Familie Percy gehört, gilt als eine der schönsten Burgen Englands und ist stolz als „Windsor of the North“ bekannt. Besucher erwartet im spektakulären Alnwick Garden mit seiner wunderbaren Grand Cascade und dem Poison Garden das Unerwartete. Das Gelände war auch in den Harry-Potter-Filmen zu sehen.
Wenn es die Zeit erlaubt, gibt es einen kurzen Halt am Flodden Field, einem der am besten erhaltenen Schlachtfelder Nordeuropas und Schauplatz der berüchtigten Schlacht von 1513, die zum Sieg für der Engländer und zum Tod des schottischen Königs James IV führte.

It was an enjoyable, very reasonably priced tour and David provided commentary on Scottish history and culture! I wish more time had been allotted to Holy Island as I enjoyed that more than Alnwick Castle, although I loved wandering around the town of Alnwick.
We loved our guide, David. He was very knowledgeable about everywhere we visited and regaled us with Scottish legends as we drove between places. It was the perfect relaxing way to end our month long trip to Scotland. We would road trip with David again!
Fine trip met expectation driver guide was well aware of the history of the places to visit and also knew a few things to tell along the way fun day
We had an amazing day/tour with our tour guide Vix! She explained everything very well and made enough stops on the way. She was clear in communication and kept making sure we were all comfortable. Would really recommend this tour and props to the tour guide!
A must for Last kingdom fans. I was not a fan but I enjoyed the scenery and the shops. It was windy but I still enjoyed our time there. Lock castle is a must see. The cafeteria there served excellent food and made fresh and delicious! Pleasantly surprised!
Vix was awesome! She kept the tour entertaining and gave a lot of information about Scotland! She was interactive and was always upbeat the entire time!

Very nice tour with a fantastic guide ! Anne is cheerful, very knowledgeable, full of humour ! Also very nice to have a woman guide :) We had a great time and appreciated that we could take the time to enjoy each of the various spots on the way !

Great day with lots of facts and information shared by Adam - I now know that Scotland’s flag is the oldest national flag in the world (amongst other things). Very clear and helpful at drop offs too.
