We decided on the spur of the moment to join the Dublin North Walking Tour, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions of our trip! Our guide, John Ryan, was simply outstanding. The group was small, the stories were funny, fascinating, and often moving, and we discovered hidden corners of Dublin that we never would have found on our own. John’s passion for his city shone through at every step and made the experience truly special. We especially enjoyed learning about Dublin’s “Stonehenge,” hearing the moving stories connected to the Famine, and discovering all the nicknames given to the city’s monuments 😄 The walking tour was the highlight of our visit to Dublin. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Hop-on Hop-off tour—many thanks to Alex and Damien B. for making that experience memorable as well. What can I say, this was a great tour with a very knowledgeable tour guide, Gareth Lawless was professional, patient, and a proceeded with great humour to give me, I was the only person on the tour, a information packed 90 mins tour of O'connell street, river Liffey and Temple Bar. So hats off to Gareth, whose knowledge of Dublin was immense, telling me of all the alliterative nicknames for statues, the locals have, example the floozy in the jacuzzi.
