I almost canceled this tour but I’m so glad I didn’t! Katrina was very knowledgeable. She was a great storyteller of the Irish famine ships. She answered any questions we had. She even helped us hail a cab at the end. Highly recommend!

Our guide Steve really brought the period to life, outlining the horrors of the 1840s but also recounting how the Jeannie Johnston represented a bright chapter at a very dark time. The ship carried 2,500 passengers and didn't lose a single one. His account of her last voyage was particularly evocative. No spoilers but we felt we were clinging to mast for dear life ourselves. Highly recommended.
Excellent visit, with solid historical content and emotion q.b. Our guide, Steve, was truly 5 stars, in friendliness, knowledge, and good humor. I definitely recommend it!
Very good presentation of what the voyage was like during hard times. We had a great guide and very good for families too.
An absolutely excellent guide who not only gave a fascinating talk but gave informative answers to all our questions.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed the experience. Will go again when I return to Dublin.
Couldn't recommend this highly enough - absolutely loved the tour. Our guide was superb. He painted a vivid picture of the desperation that drove a million people to seek a new life in America back in the 1850's. An uplifting story of 3 good men (Ship owner, Captain and Doctor) who put human kindness before profit and self-interest, ensuring that this was the only 'coffin ship' not to lose one single passenger.
Fabulous tour guide bought the experience to life. She was clearly spoken, helpful and numerous. Excellent displays bring the story to life. Definitely recommend a visit. Good value for money.
We had to go online to reserve our time to board the ship. We had a little trouble finding where to meet. The meeting spot is a small booth a small walk from the entrance to the ship. We were told about the ship before we boarded and give a lot of information once we were on the ship about it’s safety record and how it compared to other ships during the famine years. We went below deck where they had mannequins showing how Irish citizens would have bunked in extremely close quarters during the trip to Canada. I learned a lot about the fatality records of other ships. Again, knowing that my great- great grandparents came over on a famine ship, helped me understand my family a lot better.
Ticket combined with the epic. Beautiful replica and the guided tour is interesting.
