Dies ist eine Tour für diejenigen, die fit und flexibel sind und ein Gefühl für die Stadt von einem Einheimischen mit viel Wissen bekommen möchten. Ich habe viele Jahre in Immobilien und Politik in dieser Stadt gearbeitet, also haben Sie viel zu sagen! Da es jedoch Ihr Tag und Ihre Tour ist, übernehme ich die Führung der Interessen des Kunden und wenn ich sehe, dass die Augen glasig werden, ändern wir das Thema / machen eine Pause / ändern den Plan. Sie haben einen Führer für einen Tag und wir machen das Beste daraus - ich glaube daran, flexibel und offen zu sein. Bei früheren Touren, bei denen wir einen Plan hinter uns gebracht haben, sind wir mit Zugreisen ins jüdische Viertel gefahren, in einer Themen-Kneipentour - Sie haben Urlaub, keine Schulreise!

Wir beginnen im wunderschönen georgianischen Viertel der Stadt, wo Sie unsere Museen, Galerien, Bibliotheken und das Parlament von Dublin finden. Wir tauchen in diese ein für einen kurzen Rundgang durch die Highlights, die Kunst, Literatur und die Schätze unseres archäologischen Museums abdecken. Zwei Highlights für mich sind eine Nobelmedaille für Literatur und der Reisepass von WB Yeats! Wenn Sie an James Joyce interessiert sind, besuchen wir Sweny's, eine Apotheke, die 1847 eröffnet wurde und sich kaum verändert hat. Es kam in einer Szene in Joyces Meisterwerk vor und fungiert heute als Joyce-Zentrum, das von Freiwilligen betrieben wird. Ab und zu wird uns hier ein Lied vorgesungen! Und natürlich besuchen wir Oscar - Oscar Wilde, ein ehemaliger Bewohner des Merrion Square und berühmter Autor, Dramatiker und Dichter. Es gibt eine fabelhafte Skulptur von ihm im Park, in der Nähe seines ehemaligen Hauses.
Auf dem Weg zum Dublin Castle werden wir eine ungewöhnliche Route durch das zentrale Viertel von Dublin gehen. Dies ist eine Route, die unsere wunderbare Mischung aus Geschäften, Pubs, Restaurants und historischen Gebäuden zeigt und einen Blick auf einige fantastische georgianische Decken wirft. Dieser Teil der Tour ist normalerweise auch die Zeit, in der wir eine Pause in einem der stimmungsvollen alten Pubs Dublins machen, in denen gutes Essen serviert wird, und ich habe viele Vorschläge ...
Dublin Castle war über 700 Jahre lang Sitz der britischen Herrschaft und ist ein interessanter Gebäudekomplex. Wir können die State Apartments besichtigen, den ehemaligen Thronsaal besuchen und die St. Patrick's Hall sehen, in der unsere Präsidenten eingeweiht werden. Es gibt auch ein Revenue Museum für alle, die sich für Steuern interessieren! Die wunderschönen Gärten auf der Rückseite bieten einen willkommenen Ort der Entspannung und das nahe gelegene Restaurant im Chester Beatty Museum ist bei Kunden beliebt.
Auf dem Weg zur St. Patrick's Cathedral werfen wir einen Blick auf das Rathaus von Dublin, falls es geöffnet ist. Wir passieren auch Dublins berühmtesten „Fish and Chipper“, Burdocks. Außerhalb dieses berühmten Lokals befindet sich eine lange Liste berühmter Leute, die Dubliners Lieblings-Chips-Laden genossen haben! (Sie kennen Chips vielleicht als Pommes Frites!) Dann spazieren wir durch den St. Patrick's Park, um die größte Kathedrale Irlands aus dem Jahr 1195 zu besuchen. Dies ist ein faszinierender Ort mit Gräbern, Denkmälern, glücklicher und trauriger Geschichte und ein Gebäude, das den meisten Iren viel bedeutet. Johnathon Swift, Autor von Gullivers Reisen, war viele Jahre Dekan hier und ist in der Kathedrale begraben.
Wir kehren über die Marsh's Library, die älteste öffentliche Bibliothek Irlands, die von Erzbischof Narcissus Marsh gegründet wurde, in den zentralen Bereich zurück. Sie können die Käfige sehen, in die Sie eingesperrt waren, wenn Sie die Bücher ausleihen wollten, und die Bibliothek ist wie etwas aus einem Harry-Potter-Film und sehr charmant. Ich werde Sie durch einige interessante Straßen führen, bevor ich Sie am selben Ort zurücklasse, an dem wir uns getroffen haben - es sei denn, Sie bevorzugen ein anderes Ziel. Ich bin ziemlich flexibel in Sachen - ich möchte, dass Sie Ihren Tag genießen und ein Gefühl für unsere schöne Stadt bekommen und Spaß haben!

Wonderful walking tour. Dairine was a great guide! Provided so much history about Dublin and enjoyed all of the places we visited. She tailored the tour to what she thought was interesting and what we would want to see, which was great! Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring an umbrella if there is any chance of rain. Be aware that the entry fees are not included in the tour price. However, nothing was very expensive. Would not hesitate to recommend this tour or Dairine enough!

Most delightful day with Dairine. She is very knowledgeable and is a great tour guide. Unfortunately, the weather was rainy all day long. But that did not keep us from having a wonderful day touring St. Patrick'sCathedral and the Book of Kell's. Had a great Irish lunch at a local pub together with a Harp beer. Highly recommend this tour.

My family of four did a walking tour of Dublin with Dairine. She is very knowledgeable and made the tour interesting and fun! We would have missed many of the sights without her. She packed so much information and sight seeing in just a few hours! We definitely recommend her to show you Dublin!

My wife and I went to Dublin to celebrate my birthday. We decided to book a one day, private walking tour of the city as we wanted to have the flexibility to change the itinerary on the fly and ask questions as we walked around the city. Our guide, Dairine Nuttall, did a fabulous job on delivering Dublin to us on a silver platter. We saw the entire city, walking 12km, and were provided the history and local information on the sights we viewed. Dairine took us to some 'off the beaten track' stops to be educated and entertained with stories of historical and human interest. At the end of the day, we had seen places that we knew we wanted to more thoroughly tour. We were happy to relax at our hotel with a pint of the dark stuff and relive the day and set the schedule of our further exploration for the next day. We cannot recommend Dairine enough, she enabled us to know and embrace the face and fabric of Dublin.

Me and my friend did walking tour of Dublin docks with Dairine and I found the tour to be super helpful. I have been to Dublin for 2 months now and wanted to understand the history and story behind different sculptures and bridges present in the city. Dairine raised in Dublin was sufficiently aware of the city's history and gave us different perspective to look into the city.

Dairine was a wonderful guide. We deliberately arranged our layover to be long enough to allow a quick trip into Dublin. With no time to waste trying to navigate the city ourselves, we decided to book a private tour. We are so happy we did. Dairine is a true professional. She was responsive via email in arranging the tour. She picked us up with no issue at arrivals in her immaculate car, and we were off. She quickly assessed our interests and personalized a tour that was absolutely perfect. We had an ideal mix of the beautiful outdoors and a sampling of museums and landmarks. Her selections fit our time-crunched schedule and suited our style. She discussed topical cultural and political issues and pointed out fascinating details in art, architecture, and archeology. We absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a guided tour. We plan to return to Ireland, next time for a proper stay. When we do, we will certainly book with Dairine again.
