Ihr Steel City Abenteuer beginnt dort, wo die Stadt selbst begann : Point State Park, an der Spitze des Goldenen Dreiecks, wo sich der Monongahela und Allegheny River treffen, um den Ohio zu bilden. Von dort wandern wir in Downtown Pittsburgh, vorbei an Glashochhäusern, die sich neben jahrhundertealten Fassaden erheben, in das Kulturviertel, einst industriell und heute lebendig mit Theatern und Galerien, und hören dabei die Geschichte hinter den Three Sisters Brücken. Der Hunger setzt schnell ein. Wir beginnen mit dem berühmtesten Sandwich der Stadt, hoch gestapelt mit allen Fixierungen und Pierogien, dem lokalen Favoriten. Später ein griechischer Probenehmer aus einem mediterranen Flecken mit über 45-jähriger Geschichte, der einst für die Ernährung von Pierarbeitern und der Kennedy-Familie bekannt war. Wir schließen mit einem Daumenabdruck-Cookie, einem klassischen Pittsburgh-Leckerbissen und einem wahren Must-have für Einheimische, und unserem Secret Dish, das erst enthüllt wird, wenn es auf Ihrem Teller landet.

Emily our host was very knowledgeable of Pittsburgh landmarks and gave us lots of great history about the City. The food was great and was reflective of Pittsburgh culture. Highly recommend doing the tour on your first day to gain insight into restaurants, coffeehouses and bakeries.
