Unsere Reise beginnt in Yogyakarta zum Dieng-Plateau, um den goldenen Sonnenaufgang von Sikunir aus zu erleben. Die neblige Lage, die schwefelhaltigen Quellen, die alten Tempel und die farbenfrohen Seen machen diesen Ort wirklich zu einem Ort von Naturwunder und kultureller Bedeutung. Wir besuchen den Arjuna-Tempel, kleine Hindu-Tempel aus dem siebten Jahrhundert. Wir haben jetzt 10 Tempel statt 400 Tempel (Geschichte Javas: Raffles’ Buch 1817) Die Menschen haben von Menschenhand geschaffene Tempel, die wir (Sipi) nennen. Bevor „Sipi“ einen Tempel für die Öffentlichkeit errichten kann, muss Sipi in diesem Bereich einen kleinen Tempel errichten und ihn dem Anführer von Sipi zeigen. So viele Tempel in dieser Gegend gibt es schon vor langer Zeit.

Abholung von Ihrem Hotel in Yogyakarta um Mitternacht, die Fahrt zum Dieng-Plateau dauert etwa 3 Stunden mit dem Auto. Die Wanderung zum Aussichtspunkt des Sonnenaufgangs auf dem Dieng-Plateau auf der Spitze des Sikunir-Hügels dauert 20-30 Minuten vom Fuß des Pfades, der Sie zum Gipfel führt. An einem klaren Tag können Sie bis zu 8 Vulkane von der Spitze dieses Hügels sehen und der Sonnenaufgang geht hinter 8 Vulkanen nach draußen, ein wunderschöner Moment in dieser Zeit. Hinweis: Die Gesamtreisezeit beträgt ca. 6 Stunden, dies ist die geschätzte Zeit für den Transport zu allen Orten zu/von.
Von der Spitze des Sikunir-Hügels fahren Sie nach dem Sonnenaufgang auf dem Dieng-Plateau über den Batu Pandang-Hügel zum Telaga-Warna-See. Der Telaga Warna Lake oder „Bunter See“ enthält Wasser, das sich in schwankenden Farben ändern kann. Manchmal kann es grün, lila, gelb sein oder sogar die Farben des Regenbogens annehmen! Dieses Phänomen tritt auf, wenn die Sonne aufgrund des hohen Schwefelgehalts auf das Wasser trifft.
Besuchen Sie den Sikidang-Krater, einen offenen Schwefelkrater mit wütend blubberndem Schlamm und brüllendem Dampf. Es liegt inmitten einer holprigen und staubigen Landschaft, die Ihnen das Gefühl geben wird, auf dem Mond angekommen zu sein. Sie werden Zeuge, wie ein Einheimischer Eier im Krater kocht und Schwefel nimmt.
Arjuna Temple Complex, der zehn kleine hinduistische Tempel aus dem siebten Jahrhundert beherbergt.

The itinerary was comprehensive and the views were great. Our guide, Deny, was knowledgeable and shared a lot about the stories / background of the places we visited. He also paid a lot of attention to our safety when climbing up and down Sikunir Hill for the sunrise views. While the drive was long, the views and experience made up for it (kudos to our driver, Bayu, for making the drive smooth and enjoyable despite the traffic!). No regrets booking this tour and highly recommend anyone visiting Yogyakarta to try this once!

Yuni was our local guide. He was timely and friendly. Besides the paid portion of the tour, he showed us the local areas as well.

The waking up early and the long drive is worth the view. This was our third day with the same tour operator and each tour was of the same great level. In this activity, our tour guide was Didik who was beyond helpful. We packed a light jacket and he went out of his way to try and find us a shop to get a ticker one. Didik was not only insightful throughout the whole activity but took us some great photos! He’s also so warm and welcoming, made us feel comfortable throughout. We cannot thank him enough! This activity is a must when you’re in Yogyakarta. My only advice is to wear winter clothes and take a thick jacket since the weather until sunrise is quite cold.

We had a blast with on this excursion! Sigit (our driver) made our experience very comfortable. Although we had to wake up very early in the morning, Sigit’s energy truly kept us going! We were lucky to have a clear day and viewed all 8 volcanoes from the top of Dieng. The lake was very beautiful and the hot springs were a really cool experience. Sigit gave us some great recommendations of local restaurants and things to do around Yogya. He was extremely accommodating and was very helpful to us as his English is great and it was easy to communicate. Great time overall 10/10

Visited 33 years ago when the site was just temples in an open field.Driver Danni helped locate local musician who was playing with a traditional group there that time so I was able to give him his photo with the group . Also photos of the site as it once was. Now it is a major tourist site but is well worth it if you are interested in Indonesian history.

One of the greatest sunrise I have done. Check your weather and make some offerings at shrine for that (pun intended). Driver, Sigit, was punctual, fun and great travel-partner overall if you are solo traveler. The hike to the top of the hill is not-so-much hard, but bring comfy shoes and OUTER (It is COLD, and you need to wait an hour or so to see the rise). Anyway, I would recommend to anyone who love sunrise and a bit of hike. Other visits are also well-designed and give you some more photo-ops.

We had a perfect excursion to Dieng Plateau, which was ca.3 hours drive from our hotel. The sunrise was beautiful, but dress properly, it is quite chilli up there. We had an excellent guide, Atok, who gave answer to all of our questions, and told many interesting things about the country, the sights, about traditions etc. It was really interesting. He not only drove us to the originally planned places, but he bought local fruit, snake fruit for us, and we also visited a Kopi Luwak coffee shop. It was a great experience with him, he did everything, that we enjoy our journey. Thank you!
