British Punk wurde in der Kings Road Chelsea geboren, wurde aber in den Clubs und Tauchgängen von Soho und Umgebung volljährig. Soho war Mitte der siebziger Jahre ein ganz anderer Bereich, also komm mit, wenn ich ihn zum Leben erwecke und dir die bahnbrechenden Punk-Charaktere und Seiten vorstelle. Zu den Clubs gehören The Marquee, Vortex, 100 Club und Notre Dame Hall, ein Stripclub Pistols Gig, einflussreiche Plattenstände/Plattenlabels, der örtliche Pub der Sex Pistols, der Ort des ersten Sex Pistols Gigs, ihr Proberaum und The Jam, der mit dem Gesetz übereinstimmt, diese Tour hat alles!! Über Ihren Fortgeschrittener Aidan McManus ist ein Auszeichnung Reiseleiter, Historiker, Rundfunkanstalter und Kurator für musikbezogene Filmveranstaltungen. Er wurde in West London geboren und war ein Teenager-Teilnehmer der frühen Punk-Szene und später ihrer Seele, 2 - Tone and Rave Cultures. Er ist der Gastgeber von Flipside London Radio, einem zweiwöchentlichen Portobello Radio-Programm, das sich auf Bücher, Musik, Geschichte und Jugendkultur konzentriert.

Aiden knows his punk history. It was interesting to hear about his experience of the punk scene and the reality of how most working class Londoners experienced it. Loved his anecdotes and sharing his perspective of how SoHo and London has changed.

Aidan gives a fabulous tour of SoHo and shares the history of punk along with his own personal experiences. We highly recommend it! We’ll be doing his Clash tour the next time we come back to London.
Hello Aidan, Great visit, great neighborhood, great guide. A journey back in time to the first magical period of English Punk from '76 to '77, featuring the Clash and the Pistols, among others... Historically significant places, concert halls, pubs, and anecdotes and additional information on-site from a local specialist (all in English). The best. Thanks again to you... To complement all this, I recommend a stop at the "Sister Ray Record" shops in Soho, and especially "All Ages Records" in Camden (a few streets below the Camden Town subway station), the only record store entirely dedicated to Punk music and culture!!!... Aiden was excellent. Not only did he have an encyclopaedic knowledge of the punk scene, he added a personal touch to the stories and brought them to life. Really took you back to the day. He was also great at recognising everyone’s different levels of knowledge, offering great introductory stories for the casual fans but willing to go down rabbit holes with the more hardcore ones. Highly recommend for all.
This was a wonderful tour! Very factual and Aiden has certainly done his homework as well as having the actual experience that we all I am sure we wish we had in the overpacked, sweat filled heady days of early Punk in the 70s. It was informative, factual and humorous!! (Chinatown or not really Chinatown!). So put on your walking shoes and enjoy an incredible day of music knowledge and sights! 🤘🏽🤘🏽🏴🇬🇧👟
