Diese private Meteora-Tour von Athen zu den UNESCO-Klöstern der felsigen Berge des Meteora-Gebiets ist eine unvergessliche Tour! Die atemberaubenden Meteora-Felsen wurden vor 60 Millionen Jahren geformt. Heute ist Teil des Natura 2000-Netzwerks. Auf Meteora gibt es sechs Klöster: Großer Meteor, Varlaam, Roussanou, Agios Stefanos, Heilige Dreifaltigkeit und Nikolaus. Sie werden 2 oder 3 der Klöster besuchen, je nach Tag und Uhrzeit, die wir besuchen. Die Klöster stammen aus dem 14. Jahrhundert und sind aufgrund des erstaunlichen Schatzes an byzantinischen und christlichen Gegenständen, die Sie sehen können, weltweit einzigartig. Gegenstände wie die klassische Kleidung der Mönche, elegante Gemälde und geätztes Glas. 1981 wurde James Bond-Film "For Your Eyes Only" teilweise im Kloster der Heiligen Dreifaltigkeit gedreht. Als nächstes besuchen Sie das Thermopylae Museum, wo König Leonidas und seine 300 gegen die Perser kämpften. Unsere letzte Station ist das Küstendorf Kammena Vourla, wo wir Ihnen einen Nachmittagskaffee oder Tee am Meer anbieten.

Die Meteora ist eine Felsformation in Mittelgriechenland, in der sich einer der größten und am steilsten errichteten Komplexe ostorthodoxer Klöster befindet, der nach dem Berg Athos an zweiter Stelle steht. Wir werden das Innovative Zentrum für historische Informationen besuchen, das eingerichtet wurde, um die Erinnerung an die historische Schlacht zu bewahren und die Details dieses Konflikts zu erklären.
Kamena Vourla ist eine malerische Stadt an der Küste und liegt südlich der archäologischen Stätte Thermopylae direkt neben der Autobahn nach Athen. Ein sehr schöner Zwischenstopp für einen Nachmittagskaffee oder Tee, bevor Sie die Stadt Athen erreichen.

Our tour to Meteora with Petros was one of the highlights of our time in Athens. This is an amazing place and a must do. The countryside of Greece is so very different from Athens even the drive was beautiful. Petros is an experienced and professional driver; he filled our drive with interesting, insightful and peaceful conversation but was also sensitive to give us rest and quiet when needed. With Petros as our driver it was not necessary to have a guide to take us into the monasteries. He even shared several recipes with me after we returned. I will definitely book with Athens Premier Tours and Transfers on future trips to Athens and I will be looking for Petros. This is a must do!l and a great value both in terms of money and time. Amazing tour. The pictures are are not even close to the actual view. It was worth it. Our driver, Yannis, was wonderful. The day started with him picking us up in a luxury vehicle at our Airbnb and it ended with h dropping us off at the same location. He had a lot of information about what we went to see. The ride to the location was beautiful. I loved this experience. Worth the money.

The whole experience was very memorable starting with the drive, the three monasteries we visited, the beautiful mountain/rock formation culminating with a seaside late afternoon seafood dinner. Our driver was great, very knowledgeable on Greek culture and history, made the drive very enjoyable.
