Machu Picchu ist eine Inkastadt, die von Tempeln, Plattformen und Wasserkanälen umgeben ist und auf einem Berggipfel errichtet wurde. Die Konstruktion wurde aus großen Steinblöcken gebaut, die ohne Verwendung von Amalgam miteinander verbunden waren. Es gilt als kulturelles Erbe der Menschheit, da es als wichtiges politisches, religiöses und administratives Zentrum der Inka-Zeit anerkannt ist. Um Machu Picchu zu besuchen, hat Inca Rail drei Ausgangspunkte: Die Stationen San Pedro in Cusco, Poroy und Ollantaytambo, von denen aus Sie in den Zug Ihrer Wahl einsteigen können, der zum Bahnhof Machu Picchu Pueblo fährt. Ebenso bietet es seinen bimodalen Service an, der eine Fahrt mit dem exklusiven Bus von der Av. El Sol 843 nach Ollantaytambo kombiniert, um in den Zug nach Machu Picchu Pueblo einzusteigen. Das ganze Jahr über verfügbar. Zwischen Januar und April wird empfohlen, mit dem Bimodal-Dienst abzureisen, da es aufgrund der Wetterbedingungen nicht möglich ist, von den Bahnhöfen San Pedro und Poroy abzureisen.

I want to thank you for the excellent experience during the trip. The service on the 360° train was excellent. The staff was very kind and attentive, and the tour was very well organized, making the journey a very pleasant experience. At the El MaPi by Inkaterra hotel, I especially enjoyed the food, which was of very good quality and with excellent attention from the restaurant staff. I also want to especially highlight the work of Albert Bernal as a guide. Your professionalism, extensive knowledge, willingness to answer questions, and enthusiasm in sharing the history and culture made the visit much more enriching and unforgettable. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience, and I appreciate the quality of the service received.
Sindy is a great guide; I was fortunate that she was my personal guide, as I was the only person on the tour. I loved it; the guide Gabriela was wonderful in explaining everything and resolved all our doubts, super friendly, and she also took very good photos of us. A 10 out of 10 experience. The only thing is that in my case, I did route 1, and I was left wanting to do the other two. The train journey was very pleasant with wonderful views.

The 360 train is a nice experience, you get very tall windows to see out of and another small window on the corners of the train to see the tops of mountains and the sky. It comes with free hot tea, chocolate and cookies on the ride as well. Make sure you get to boarding at the time specified, as they are quite prompt due to all of the intersecting schedules. Also, IT DOES NOT INCLUDE THE TICKET TO MACHU PICCHU, YOU HAVE TO BUY THOSE PN YOUR OWN, PREFERABLY 5 ISH MONTHS BEFORE FOR TRIPS IN APRIL TO SEPTEMBER. While that is standard for any tour here, just make sure to check the official Machu Picchu website to get those tickets. We left our hotel at 3:15am and got there for our tour at 11am with about 2 hours to spare(which we used to walk around and grab some food in Aguas Calientes). We spent about an hour and a half on circuit 1(which was honestly better than our expectations since everybody said it sucked) and that was enough time for us to see the city from the overlook. If you do circuit 1, just make sure to do a sacred valley tour and see some other historical sites in the area so you don’t feel you miss out on actually being right inside of the ruins. We got back to our hotel on plaza de armas about 8:30pm(we also gave ourselves about 2 hours after our tour to hang around Aguas Calientes again, which may not have been needed but was a nice break for us after the long day).
