We had our textiles class and lunch today. Honestly first impressions was the absolutely stunning backdrop, even by Sacred Valley standards it was breathtaking, which is a great bonus because the class is semi outdoors. Feeding the alpacas and llamas was good fun and Thomas the llama is so friendly he will kiss you! Miguel and Polita were very patient and friendly. Miguel spoke good English and was a great teacher and the experience really opened our eyes about the organic and authentic ways of producing alpaca wool products. Lunch was delicious, especially the soup. I just wish there was more of it! Overall would highly recommend!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are delighted that you enjoyed the beautiful setting, meeting our alpacas and llamas, and learning about traditional Andean textiles. Miguel and Polita will be very happy to hear your kind words. We're especially glad that the experience gave you a deeper appreciation for the authentic process behind alpaca wool production. And we'll take note of your suggestion about the soup! Thank you for visiting Andean Colors. We hope to welcome you back to the Sacred Valley someday
This place was an alpaca/llama farm. It was located in the most beautiful setting. First we had a delicious lunch with hot soup and a chicken, cauliflower potato dish. Then Miguel taught us the entire process on how to dye and weave the alpaca wool. It was amazing! He was funny and very interesting. It was my favorite afternoon. I highly recommend this activity.

Miguel is an awesome guide!! He cooks for us (which is delicious btw) and taught us all about the basics of weaving and dyeing, basically the process from start to finish of making a bracelet. Miguel also shared with us the purpose and mission of this social enterprise and how it supports the local community. Great view btw, a nice change in pace from sightseeing, would recommend!

It was a beautiful experience and I am so glad I found it!! I have been in the sacred valley for 5 weeks, and saw a textile demonstration, but wanted to engage with the process more hands on, and Andean Colors provided just that! It was so beautiful to learn more about the textile process from start to finish, and to participate in the cleaning, spinning, and dying process as well as learn a simple design to make my own bracelet. They even gave me the yarn I dyed! The lunch was wonderful, the llamas and alpacas were hilarious, and Miguel and Paulita were so welcoming and informative! Highly recommend everything about the experience!!

Amazing experience! Fully recommended if you want to live something different than typical tourism in Cusco, and get closer to the local culture. Learning in the first person these Andean knowledge, doing with your own hands all parts of the process, is invaluable! The food was delicious and everyone was very friendly. We had the most amazing experience at Andean Colors. Marco and his team were so patient and kind to our kids. The experience was extremely hands on and our kids absolutely loved it, especially the laama and alpaca feeding. We learnt how to dye and weave the wool all came away with a beautiful handmade bracelet. Would highly recommend this experience when visiting the sacred valley with kids.

It means a lot to know that your kids enjoyed the experience, especially feeding the llamas and alpacas—those moments are always very special for us too. We’re also glad you enjoyed the hands-on activities like dyeing and weaving, and that you could take home your own handmade bracelet as a memory of your time here. Your recommendation means the world to us, especially for families visiting the Sacred Valley. We hope to welcome you again someday! Warm regards, Marco and the Andean Colors Family.
I had this experience with my husband and my 38-year-old daughter, and we were really looking forward to learning how Peruvians create their beautifully colored garments. It exceeded all of our expectations. Marco and Paulita welcomed us with big smiles, cozy ponchos, and hot tea—much appreciated on a chilly, drizzly day. Their warmth immediately made us feel at home. The setting of their workshop was absolutely stunning. Nestled on the side of a hill, we were surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Nearby, llamas wandered about, eager for attention, while vibrant flowers added even more color to the landscape. They guided us through every step of the spinning and dyeing process, encouraging us to participate along the way. The experience was incredibly hands-on and interactive. We even made our own wool bracelets—which is much harder than they make it look! The lunch they served was warm, comforting, and delicious, made with locally grown ingredients. What made the experience even more meaningful is that the proceeds help support single mothers in the area. Don’t forget to visit their shop and admire the beautiful garments they create—such incredible skill and artistry. Highly recommend!
