Spazieren Sie durch die Plaza de Armas, den berühmten 12-eckigen Stein und die Loreto-Straße, wo sich Kolonialbauten über originalen Inkamauern erheben. Besuchen Sie Koricancha (Tempel der Sonne) und fahren Sie dann mit dem komfortablen Touristentransport nach Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara und Tambomachay. Ihre Tour beginnt um 13:00 Uhr im Herzen von Cusco, der schönen Plaza de Armas. Hier zeigt Ihnen Ihr Fortgeschrittener die wichtigsten Kolonial- und Inkabauten rund um den Platz und erklärt, wie diese Gegend einst das wichtigste zeremonielle Zentrum des Inkareiches war. Sie gehen dann zum berühmten 12-eckigen Stein, der perfekt in eine alte Inka-Mauer passt, und fahren weiter entlang der Loreto Street, die als eines der schönsten Beispiele für Inka-Städtebau gilt, mit originalen Steinmauern auf beiden Seiten. Es ist die perfekte Einführung in Cuscos Mischung aus Inka- und Kolonialgeschichte.
Als nächstes besuchen Sie Coricancha, den einst bedeutendsten Tempel des gesamten Inkareiches, der der Sonne geweiht war, und sehen, wie die Spanisch das Kloster Santo Domingo direkt auf den ursprünglichen Inka-Fundamenten errichteten. Im Inneren kann man das perfekte Inka-Steinwerk deutlich mit der darüber liegenden Kolonialarchitektur vergleichen. Ihr Fortgeschrittener wird Ihnen erklären, wie dieser Tempel einst mit Gold bedeckt war und für wichtige Zeremonien, Astronomie und Anbetungen genutzt wurde.
Sie fahren dann mit dem Fahrzeug nach Sacsayhuaman, der beeindruckendsten Inka-Stätte mit Blick auf Cusco. Diese riesige Festung ist berühmt für ihre riesigen Zickzack-Steinmauern, deren Blöcke so perfekt aufeinander abgestimmt sind, dass man nicht einmal ein Stück Papier dazwischen schieben kann. Während Sie durch die Stätte gehen, wird Ihr Fortgeschrittener Geschichten über Inkaschlachten, Zeremonien und darüber erzählen, wie Sacsayhuaman auch heute noch eine Schlüsselrolle während des Inti Raymi Festivals spielt. Von hier aus genießen Sie auch einige der besten Panoramablicke auf Cusco und die umliegenden Berge.
Ihr nächster Halt ist Qenqo, ein mysteriöses Inka-Zeremonienzentrum, das fast vollständig aus Fels gehauen ist. Sie erkunden die verwinkelten Passagen, geschnitzten Kanäle und versteckten Altäre, die wahrscheinlich für wichtige Rituale verwendet wurden. Der Name Qenqo bedeutet auf Quechua “Zickzack”, und sobald du drinnen bist, wirst du verstehen, warum. Ihr Fortgeschrittener wird Ihnen die verschiedenen Theorien über die Nutzung und die spirituelle Bedeutung dieses heiligen Ortes erklären und Ihnen dabei helfen, sich vorzustellen, wie er in Inka-Zeiten ausgesehen hat.
Weiter geht es nach Puka Pukara, dessen Name auf Quechua „Rote Festung“ bedeutet. Diese Stätte diente wahrscheinlich als militärischer Kontrollpunkt und Rastplatz an der Straße, die Cusco mit dem Heiligen Tal und dem Dschungel verband. Von den Terrassen und Steinmauern aus hat man einen freien Blick auf die Landschaft und kann sich vorstellen, wie Inkaboten und Reisende durchreisen. Ihr Fortgeschrittener zeigt Wachposten, Mauern und Räume auf und zeigt, wie dieser kleine, aber strategische Ort zum Schutz der Hauptstadt beigetragen hat.
Schließlich besuchen Sie Tambomachay, eine friedliche Inka-Stätte, die für ihre klaren Wasserfontänen und eleganten Mauerwerke bekannt ist. Oft als „Inka-Bad“ bezeichnet, könnte es ein Ort der Ruhe und Anbetung von Wasser für den Inka-Adel gewesen sein. Hier sehen Sie perfekt gebaute Aquädukte und Kanäle, die auch nach Hunderten von Jahren noch Wasser führen. Es ist ein ruhiger, schöner Ort, um die frische Luft zu genießen, Fotos zu machen und den tiefen Respekt der Inkas vor der Natur zu schätzen, bevor es zurück nach Cusco geht.

Our family of four had an absolutely epic adventure exploring the Sacred Valley! From start to finish, everything was seamless – the van was comfortable, the itinerary was perfectly paced, and the communication with the team was responsive and helpful throughout our whole vacation. Our tour guide, Katia, was the highlight of the experience. She was not only kind, knowledgeable, and engaging, but also deeply passionate about sharing the stories and traditions of her ancestors. Trexperience was recommended by a close personal friend from their recent Peru trip. It did not disappoint. Frank was very knowledgeable, kind and thoughtful. He picked us upon our arrival at the airport in Cusco. We visited a llama sanctuary on our way out to Pisac and Ollytaytambo. The impressive archeological sites are amplified when coupled with explanations by someone with deep pride and knowledge of the history. Frank altered our itinerary when he recognized our fatigue from the red eye flight. Day two we visited Chinchero, Moray and Maras for more local history. Each day included a van, driver, lunch, entry tickets to archeological sites, and hotel. Why sit in Cusco waiting to acclimatize when you can explore, learn and immerse prior to Machu Picchu?

The trip was a super easy way to visit all the key sites of the Incans, and we were led by our wonderful guide, Jennifer. She had a wealth of knowledge about every site, and was able to answer every question. We also stopped at a llama and alpaca center, which was a super fun experience.

The Sacred Valley tour was amazing! Everything is organized really well, and the benefit of doing this tour is you get to see so many different sites in one day! This is perfect for those with limited time and want to see a lot of the important sites. Jennifer, our host, also made the trip really interesting and entertaining. TreXperience had a fun premade tour through the Sacred Valley, but our Guide Leo made the valley come alive with history and levity and Victor kept us safe and comfortable along dynamic roadways. Ullantaytambo was positioned at the right elevation for us to acclimate before time in Cusco and a 4-day hike on the Inca Trail. To our larger trip with TreXperience, we added two days of tours through the Sacred Valley, which finished in Cusco. This was semi custom. There is more to experience in the Andes and I would find Leo to lead me off the beaten path.
Leo was an amazing guide and would highly recommend him to all my friends and family. Victor keep us on time and was an excellent driver. My greatest thanks to the both of them.
