7:00 Uhr Unser Reiseleiter trifft Sie in der Hotellobby und dann fahren wir 1,5 Stunden nordwestlich von Saigon durch die südliche Landschaft zu den legendären Tunneln von Cu Chi. Das Netzwerk erstreckt sich von Saigon bis zur vietnamesisch-kambodschanischen Grenze und umfasst unzählige Falltüren, verwinkelte Wohnbereiche, Lagereinrichtungen und Waffenfabriken, kleine Militärkrankenhäuser, Kommandozentralen und sogar Küchen. Auf dieser Tour erkunden Sie das Leben eines Vietcong-Soldaten unter der Erde.
- Dieses von Hand gegrabene Tunnelnetz erstreckt sich über mehr als 200 km und verbindet Unterstände, Posten, Krankenhäuser und Waffenbunker. Sie können durch die Gegend spazieren und mehr über das Leben von VC erfahren, sich den geschickt getarnten Eingängen und aufwendigen Sprengfallen stellen. Dann fährt der Minivan etwa zwei Stunden, um das Mekong-Gebiet zu erreichen.
- Genießen Sie auf dem Weg zum Mekong ein Mittagessen in einem lokalen Restaurant. - Nach dem Mittagessen lassen Sie die Großstadt hinter sich, während die Landschaft auf Ihrer Fahrt nach My Tho nach und nach durch Reisfelder und ländliche Dörfer ersetzt wird. - Dann beginnt die Reise mit einer Fahrt auf kleinen Booten auf dem Fluss, um eine Kokosnussfabrik zu besuchen, um zu erfahren, wie hier Kokosnussbonbons hergestellt werden, und um einige lokale Produkte zu probieren. Great private tour done with Lee and driver who took us safely everywhere. In the morning we went to the tunnels. In the car Lee told us all about the war history, not only from the books but also from his father. We arrived before the big crowds and the visit was very impressive. The second part of the day was slightly modified at our request; for example a Vietnamese and Buddhist temple (where monks also live) were added and horse and cart ride changed to tuk tuk. We skipped the honey where many tours stop. Lee had arranged a private boat that took us in the Mekong to several stops. All in all had a really great day. A private tour may be a bit more expensive but we really liked it. We booked Lee through tours with locals.

A great day out. Penny was a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable about the tunnels and the history of the Vietnamese war. We learnt so much from her. It is a long day so be prepared for that. We also want to say how great the driver was.
Penny is an absolutely fantastic tour guide. She is extremely knowledgeable and completely made the trip for us. Her English is exceptional. Apart from seeing the the Cu Chi Tunnels, which was quite an eye opening experience, we had a lovely trip along the Mekong Delta, stopping for lunch and going to a couple of small islands which was really interesting. All in all a great day.
