Das Quiet Man Museum bietet ein Erlebnis am Set mit exakten Nachbildungen aller wichtigen Möbel und Artefakte aus dem Film, darunter Sean Thorntons großes Bett, Mary Kates Landhausklavier, Porzellan, Zinn, Wiege und das Tandemfahrrad sowie Kostüme von dieselbe Firma – O'Maille's aus Galway – die sie 1951 für John Ford herstellte. Quiet-Man-Enthusiasten können sich für Fotos in Kostümen verkleiden. Das Quiet Man Museum beherbergt die Original-Angelrute von Pater Lonergan und Michaeleen Ogs Pferd Napoleons Originalgeschirr und eine Erstausgabe der Kurzgeschichtensammlung von Maurice Walsh, Green Rushes, auf der das Drehbuch für The Quiet Man basiert. Das Museum zeigt auch die größte Sammlung irischer Zeitungsartikel aus der Zeit, als der Film gedreht wurde, die durch sorgfältiges Durchsuchen der Mikrofiche-Dateien in örtlichen Bibliotheken zusammengetragen wurden. Dieser Bericht aus erster Hand ermöglicht es Enthusiasten, genau zu lesen, wie es war, als Hollywood 1951 das Dorf Cong übernahm.

Das Quiet Man Museum ist eine exakte Nachbildung von 'White O'Morn', dem Stammhaus von John Waynes Charakter im Film The Quiet Man, da das ursprüngliche Cottage jetzt in Trümmern liegt und das Innere ein Hollywood-Set war. Dies ist das erste Mal, dass das Äußere und das Innere von 'White O'Morn' an einem Ort geschaffen wurden. Das Quiet Man Museum ist ein Muss für jeden Quiet Man-Enthusiasten. Sorgfältige Bemühungen haben dafür gesorgt, dass alle Möbel, Artefakte und Kostüme authentische Reproduktionen sind. Das Himmelbett, die Tische und Stühle, die Mary Kate liebte, das Strohdach, die smaragdgrüne halbe Tür und die weiß getünchte Vorderseite verzaubern alle Besucher. Das Quiet Man Museum beherbergt auch die Original-Angelrute aus dem Film, Michaeleens Pferdegeschirr und Original-Produktionsnotizen sowie Zeitungsartikel aus der Zeit des Films, lebensgroße Werbeplakate und Kostüme, die die Besucher anprobieren können Fotos und Nachstellungen. Das Quiet Man Museum ist vom 1. April bis 31. Oktober täglich von 10 bis 16 Uhr geöffnet.

Absolutely amazing experience we had learned so much on this tour even my 10 year old son loved it.
Perfect tour of the museum for fans of the movie. There is a lot of information presented in the museum. There are lots of items from the movie. There is plenty of information given about all the sites in the surrounding areas of the movie. I would highly recommend visiting this museum for fans of this classic movie.

A nice experience if you are a Quiet man fan. Three rooms of original and replica items from the film and a lot of information from newspapers at the time of the making of the film.
Lovely little spot , brings the quite man to life , seeing the places wer it was made , beautiful scenery, and pubs good for entertainment, good for overnight stay, as it only small village ,
We had a wonderful time in Cong . On the day we visited we actually didn't need our skip the line tickets, it was a slow day. However, we also purchased the tour. The tour was worth every penny. Our tour guide was so well informed and had a wonderful sense of humor. Overall it was a wonderful travel experience.

When my husband and I planned our once in a lifetime visit to Ireland, we told our travel agency that the main reason I had always dreamed of going to Ireland was because of The Quiet Man movie. You could say I’m a Quit Man crazy fan!! My #1 site to see in Ireland was the Quiet Man Museum. You can imagine my heart break when our travel agent told us at the last minute that the museum was closed for the season. I was devastated!! My husband relayed our disappointment with them telling them they should have checked into that right away before we booked our trip in October 2023. Well they came through for us and contacted the folks that run the museum and they very graciously opened the museum just for us for a private visit!! Gerry met us at the museum. He was outstanding!! It was so surreal for me. He told us his family history with the movie. Several of his family members were extras in the film. Not only did he give us a private tour of the museum, he took us on a private tour in his car to the sites where the picture was filmed in the city of Cong. Words cannot express my Joy. I will be forever grateful to Gerry and his gracious hospitality and to our travel agency. They made my dream come true!! If you ever are blessed to take a trip to Ireland make sure you visit this site, you won’t regret it!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU a hundred times over!!!
