Wir beginnen unsere Reise an der berühmten Piazza Cavour, dem lebhaften Herzen der Stadt, das sich zum Seeufer hin öffnet und einen atemberaubenden Blick auf die umliegenden Hügel und die Uferpromenade bietet. Von dort aus schlendern wir durch das elegante historische Zentrum von Como, wo Kopfsteinpflasterstraßen an mittelalterlichen Türmen, Renaissancepalästen und belebten Piazzas vorbeiführen. Im neunzehnten Jahrhundert existierte der Platz, der dem Grafen von Cavour, Camillo Benso, gewidmet war, nicht. An seiner Stelle befand sich ein Hafen, der jetzt begraben war. Anfangs war der Platz von Boutiquen und Arkaden geprägt, die Gebäude, die wir heute sehen können, wurden im Laufe der Jahre gebaut. In kürzester Zeit wurde die Piazza Cavour zu einer wahren "City Lounge". Ende 1800 wurde in der Mitte des Platzes ein Brunnen errichtet, der später im Bronx Park in New York aufgestellt wurde. Zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts wurden drei Blumenbeete (noch vorhanden) an den Seiten des Platzes aufgestellt. Straßenbahngleise wurden gebaut und später durch eine Straße ersetzt. Um die 1950er Jahre wurde es als Parkplatz genutzt. Ende der neunziger Jahre bildeten zehn im nördlichen Blumenbeet installierte Wasserstrahlen den letzten architektonischen Beitrag zu diesem Ort. Der Platz ist aufgrund seiner Konstruktion auf dem See hochwassergefährdet.
Teatro Sociale, Theater in Como, entworfen vom Architekten Giuseppe Cusi, wurde 1811 unter Verwendung der bestehenden Struktur einer alten Burg erbaut (die ursprünglichen Mauern sind noch heute zu sehen). Die erste Show fand 1813 statt und heutzutage kann man Theateraufführungen genießen, aber es ist auch ein guter Ort, um Zeremonien, Hochzeiten und geschäftliche Veranstaltungen zu organisieren.
Die Kathedrale in der Nähe des Comer Sees ist eines der wichtigsten Bauwerke der Region. Es wurde in verschiedenen historischen Epochen erbaut und so finden wir Gotik, Renaissance und Barock. In der Kathedrale finden wir den Sarkophag der Bischöfe Avvocati und Bonifacio da Modena.
Die Basilika San Fedele in Como befindet sich im Stadtzentrum und ist dem Märtyrer von Saint Fidelis gewidmet. Sie stammt aus einer früheren christlichen Kirche aus dem 7. Jahrhundert, die der Euphemia gewidmet ist.
Porta Torre (auch Torre di Porta Vittoria genannt) ist ein befestigter Hauptturm in der Stadt Como in der Lombardei (Norditalien). Er ist 40 Meter hoch und wurde 1192 erbaut, um den Haupteingang der Stadt zu verteidigen.

Very friendly and Good historical knowledge Tour was a bit shorter than expected, it may have been due to the extreme hot weather
This was a perfect way to start our visit to Como. Nick did an amazing job orienting us to all the major points within the ancient part of the city including recommendations for shops, bars, and dining. Disgusting the tour guide operator didn’t turn up! Ruined our whole Como experience! Still waiting for a company representative to contact me! The number they provide is not in service!!!!!!
We are sorry that you were disappointed with your experience. However, we must clarify that our guide was at the meeting point at the scheduled time. We personally attempted to contact you several times using the phone number provided in the booking, and our guide did the same. Unfortunately, none of the calls were answered, and we never received a callback. We can provide screenshots of the outgoing calls as evidence. We always do our best to reach guests who are not present at the meeting point, and in this case multiple attempts were made to contact you without success. For this reason, we respectfully disagree with the statement that nobody showed up or tried to contact you.
This was a fun walking tour! Our guide knew so much about Como - there is so much more history here than we originally thought! Definitely worth the time and money for the tour, we learned so much and our guide had great recommendations for restaurants as well.
