Reiseverlauf

Great experience at Althabasca glacier. Well organised tour, really enjoyed the experience in the ice explorer vehicle and walking out on the glacier. Naturally a lot colder on the glacier so come prepared (surprising how many people weren't!). Sensible shoes for wet and slippery surface, coats, hats, gloves etc. Shuttle bus takes you straight from the glacier tour to the Skywalk, where you can get off and explore the glass walkway over the canyon, or stay on the bus to go straight back to the discovery centre, if the walkway isn't for you. Regular shuttles back to the discovery centre.
The Columbia Icefield was absolutely the highlight of our vacation! What an incredible and unforgettable experience—the views were breathtaking, and being on the glacier was truly amazing. I only wish I had more time to enjoy and explore the glacier!
Well worth the time and money. Pictures will never give you the feeling of the size and beauty of everything.
Our glacier tour was canceled due to some incident and refund was promptly issued. We went on the skywalk part of the tour and it was great!!
Awesome experience…every employee was outstanding from the ticket booth to the guide on the glacier

We loved this experience. It was beautiful and also sad to see the glacier knowing where it used to be. We felt fortunate to witness it. Our guide, Callum, was very funny. We were also grateful for his exceptional driving on the harrowing hill down to the glacier itself.

You queue to get on a coach which takes you up the hill to the Ice Explorer vehicle which takes you to the glacier. Feels like being herded! Glacier has so much potential to be an amazing experience but you are held to a very small area with hundreds of others, given 20 mins or ‘we will leave without you’ and this is all fairly low down the glacier which means the views are limited. Very slushy and wet when we went so perhaps best to go first thing in the day. All in all pretty sad given the focus on how the glacier has reduced in depth by 50% in 40 years and won’t be around in another 40. A money making tourist trap.
Hello LKC1903, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry the experience did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your comments and understand your disappointment. Your feedback will be shared with our team as we continue working to improve the experience. Safe Travels, Nathaniel Cherry Assistant Guest Experience Manager
Well worth it!! The ride on the glacier was amazing!! We had a beautiful day and great weather! Highly recommend!
Be aware when booking this your that one needs to account traveling time from whatever place you are staying, depending on that it’s more like a 9-10 hrs experience. We could not make it fir a couple different reasons. The tour guide never reached out to us with any details or follow up. We got refunded in the end.
