Klasse 3 Sunwapta River Rafting Abenteuer in Jasper

We didn’t get to go on the class 3 experience booked because Viator gave us the wrong departure time and we missed the pick up by an hour! This would have spoilt our time in Jasper, however, the company were brilliant and re-booked us onto another trip later the same day with complimentary photographs to make up for Viator’s mistake. This was a class 2, so less challenging, but we had a fantastic experience. It was a perfect blend of fun and excitement in such beautiful scenery (special thanks to our guides Molly and Ainsley) We would totally recommend it & the company. Thank you to all the team who helped us and got us out on the water.

We rafted the Sunwapta River with Maligne Adventures. There were 12 people in our group, plus 3 raft guides and a couple of trainees. Our group leader was Craig. We met in Jasper, and after signing the waivers, departed by bus for the river, which is about an hour ride. Once at the river, we changed into our gear. They provide full wetsuits, splash jackets, booties, gloves, and helmets. Even though the water was freezing cold, with all this gear on no one complained about being cold on the ride despite getting splashed quite a lot. The ride itself takes only an hour and a half, then the 1 hour bus ride back. All you need to bring is a swimsuit and dry clothes to change into afterwards. The river was super turbulent with roaring current the whole way, but the rapids themselves were more up and down waves than serious drops, so you never really felt like you could get thrown outside the boat. The section of river they run on is parallel to the Icefields Parkway, but the roadway is hidden the whole way by dense woods so you feel like you are in the middle of the wilderness with no signs at all of civilization along the route. Its incredibly beautiful and a nice way to spend a morning or afternoon in Jasper National Park.

The weather was cold and rainy but we had an awesome time rafting on the Sunwapta river. Our guide Annaja made sure everyone was prepared for the class 3 rapids. She made it a fun experience.

We had the most epic time whitewater rafting on the Sunwapta River! Our guides, Dave and Jordan, totally made the experience — they were so fun to be around, incredibly knowledgeable, and made us feel safe the entire time. You could tell they genuinely love what they do, and their energy made the whole adventure even better. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Jasper. We honestly would have stayed out there all day if we could. Highly recommend!

The was our highlight of Jasper. It was super fun and would recommend it to everyone. Definitely do the level 3 and don't be worried about it being dangers. We felt safe the whole time and had a blast. The guides were super friend and big shout out to our guide Jimmy. He was amazing.

Had an awesome time on this rafting adventure. Jordan was a fun and knowledgeable leader for us. My partner had never been white water rafting and had a really fun time. The water is cold but the wet suits provided do their job. There’s nothing like seeing the scenery from the river.

Unbelievable rafting experience! Our guide Nate made our tour truly unforgettable. Every single employee we dealt with, from Sign In , to the bus drivers, to the photographer, and the entire “Raft Steering Team”, professional and outstanding at all their jobs.
