Dieser lebendige Überblick über die Architektur Chicagos untersucht ikonische Gebäude von den 1890er Jahren bis heute. Wir vergleichen und kontrastieren eine Vielzahl von Gebäuden mit unterschiedlichen Architekturstilen und sehen, wie ältere Gebäude mit neuen Skyline-Erweiterungen in Verbindung stehen. Auf dieser Tour machen wir sieben Stopps in der Innenstadt von Chicago, wo wir die Geschichte und den Stil der Gebäude vergleichen können, die sich in Sichtweite zueinander befinden. Die Tour zeigt kommerzielle, Beaux-Arts-, Mid-Century- und postmoderne Gebäude aus dem 19. Jahrhundert sowie die neueste Architektur von Frank Gehry, Renzo Piano und Adrian Smith. Bei jedem Stopp beleuchten wir die Verbindungen zwischen Vergangenheit und Gegenwart und entdecken, was Design heute inspiriert. Die Tour endet mit einem Besuch im Millennium Park, wo Kunst und Architektur von Weltklasse zusammenkommen und ein einzigartiges Stadtgefüge schaffen. Highly recommend the Graceland Cemetery Tour. Many prominent Chicago figures are there and the cemetery is also considered an arboretum.
