Der Chandragiri-Hügel liegt auf einer Höhe von 2540 m und ist die malerische Bergstation des Kathmandu-Tals. 7 km vom Kathmandu-Tal entfernt finden Sie Restaurants, eine Seilbahn, ein Resort, Markengeschäfte und eine Mehrzweckhalle im Chandragiri Hill. Die Seilbahn fährt wochentags von 8:00 bis 17:00 Uhr und an Feiertagen und am Wochenende von 7:00 bis 18:00 Uhr. Es dauert etwa 10-12 Minuten, um die 2,5 km der Distanz zurückzulegen. Diese neu eröffnete Seilbahn von ihrem Fuß bis zum Gipfel hat das Ziel noch attraktiver gemacht. Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure bietet dieses wunderbare neue Tagestourpaket zu den Hügeln von Chandragiri. Nach dem Frühstück am Morgen wird Sie der Fahrer von Ihrem Hotel in Kathamndu abholen und Sie zur Chandragiri-Seilbahnstation bringen, die etwa 45 Autominuten entfernt ist. Nach Erreichen der Chandragiri-Seilbahnstation können Sie das Wasserfundament, den Park und den Panoramablick genießen. In der Zwischenzeit kauft Ihr Fahrer die Seilbahntickets (zahlen Sie selbst). Danach fahren Sie mit der Seilbahn 10 Minuten auf einer 2,5 km langen Strecke. Historische Bedeutung Chandragiri-Hügel haben auch historische Bedeutung. Von diesen Hügeln aus erhaschte König Prithivi Narayan Shah den ersten Blick auf ein landschaftlich reizvolles und wohlhabendes Kathmandutal, das dem König tatsächlich die Idee einbrachte, das Tal in sein Königreich aufzunehmen. Laut der Folklore soll Prithivi Narayan Shah spirituelle Kräfte für den Einigungsprozess angehäuft haben, nachdem er auf diesen Hügeln rigorose „Sadhana“ oder Meditation erlebt hatte. Der Gorkhali-König verkleidet sich beim Aufstieg über die Hügel, um nicht von den Malla-Königen des Kathmandutals erkannt zu werden. In seiner „Divyopadesh“ (Divine Preaching) wurde erwähnt, dass König Prithivi Narayan Shah entschlossen war, Kathmandu zuerst zu annektieren und dann zur Hauptstadt des vereinten Nepals zu machen. Er hat das Tal anscheinend zuerst gesehen, als er von seinem Schwiegerelternreich in Makwanpur auf dem Weg zurück in sein Königreich in Gorkha war. Die Astrologen Bhanu Aryal und Kulananda Dhakal, die den König während dieser Reise begleiteten, hatten vorausgesagt, dass der Wunsch ihres Königs, Kathmandu zu übernehmen, definitiv in Erfüllung gehen würde. Nach allgemeiner Überzeugung war es Bhaleshwor Mahadev, der König Prithivi Narayan Shah, der mit seiner Beharrlichkeit und Sadhana zufrieden war, seine Wünsche übertrug.

Just back in from a great day out using himalayas sanctuary adventure tours service. What can I say. Bishnu the owner met us at the lobby of our hotel to make sure we got in the right car for the day. Good start. The driver delivered us safely to the chindarayam cable car. There was no pressure to be racing back. It was very relaxed and easy. We organised a time for the pickup. The driver was there smiling exactly where we agreed. They even gave us a complimentary stop off at the.monkey temple on the way home which was unexpected but a great touch as a personal service. Once again there was no pressure or rush. We agreed a time for pickup and return to hotel and all as above went seamlessly. Would I recommend. Absolutely yes. No hidden surprises. No hidden fees. Just great service from a friendly small tour operator. Well done!!

I booked everything online a week or so in advance. I was contacted a few days prior to confirm pick up location by Bishnu Bhatta which made me feel at ease. When I arrived I got a SIM card (under 4 dollars for a sim with plenty of data, you can buy at the airport or anywhere on the street) and then I let Bishnu know my number in case he needed to call me via trip advisor messaging. The night before he re confirmed everything about what was included and not included in the tour I choose which was all clearly stated online. That morning I was picked up on time and brought to Chandragiri Hill to enjoy the cable car. My driver waited for me while I took the cable car up into the clouds and then above the clouds to the top. Being the rainy season I wasn’t expecting to see the Himalayan Ranges, the cable car was fun and had lovely views. There were a few bars at the top, a temple and a few restaurants, also a view point with binoculars. I was surprised that I did get to see the Ganush Himal Range off in the distance. I then got some vegetable pakoras and a hot lemon honey drink before heading back down. On the way down I messaged my driver and told him I would be there at the entrance in 15 minutes. The driver met me exactly where I got dropped off and then took me back to my Air BnB. Very polite and a safe driver. This tour I was on my own, so you get to experience it at your own pace. It was nice to have the transportation arranged. If you are the type of traveller who likes things pre arranged and booked then this was a good option. I do feel though that you could book your own taxi and go yourself if you are more of a spontaneous traveller for a lot cheaper, as the tour does not include the ticket price or meals (all stated online). Overall a great experience!
