In a word: Exceptional We had a magical experience between gastronomy and cultural exchange, we came out hungry, and the spirit enriches. Many thanks to Mathilda and her companion for their warm Welcoming and sympathy. To live an unforgettable experience in Turin, do not hesitate and go for it!
Our hostess, Rosanna, was wonderful. We made out own pasta and were then served a four course dinner including appetizers, pasta, chicken, and dessert with the wine flowing for over 3 hours. Rosanna’s assistant spoke flawless English and gave us a glimpse onto the life of a college student in Turin. I wholeheartedly recommend this provider. The only complaint is that we were given the address and first name so when we arrived we didn’t know which apartment bell to press! Luckily, we were early and Rosanna and Aryanna arrived as we were trying to figure out what to do.
What can I say... It was an evening to forget. The hostess was always very brief. A quick hello and that was it. My wife and I always had to keep the conversations going and practically squeeze them out. For food: Starter was the classic Tuscan cold cuts plate. Quality very good. However, we had specifically said that my wife cannot eat raw products for the purpose of pregnancy. Unfortunately, half of them did. First course: vitello tonato was very delicious. Main course: thawed tortellini with watery butter bowl. Dessert: burnt dessert... Inedible I think over the flaws on the menu you could see but due to the very unpleasant atmosphere the evening was ended very quickly. To everything came two more dogs and we have one ourselves.... Who had barked continuously. For 190 € definitely not recommended.

The meal was wonderful. Barbara was a gracious host. The wines went well with the meal. The home-made pasta was especially good, but then so was the pork roast with apricots and the dessert, tiramisu. She finished the meal with a home-made digestive. There wasn’t a quiet moment. Great fun!
The family was very hospitable, kind and courteous. They literally opened the doors of our house to make us feel at home. But out of 4 courses, only 1 was true to the description "typical and homemade". The other three courses were either not typical of Turin, or were not homemade foods. For example, the appetizer: local cold cuts and cheeses, very good, but in the typical menu we talked about homemade preparations such as tomini al verde or finanziera with zucchini in carpione. The first: tagliatelle with simple tomato sauce. Definitely not typical of Turin. According to the description they had to be Agnolotti del plin or lasagna all'albese or pumpkin gnocchi... Same with the cheese cake. According to the description there had to be a bunet or tiramisu, definitely more Italian than the cheese cake (moreover vegan). The second, however, reflected the description: rabbit with vegetable ratatouille. Although it differed from the description "Mixed Piedmontese fried with mushrooms or veal tuna or boiled mixed", it was still something typical and home made. Due to a technical problem, there was also what is called a "cooking show". Snags can happen. But in this case too much went wrong. We will ask for a refund, at least partial!
Cordialmente,
Exploring a country through food and conversation is the best way to broaden one’s understanding and appreciation for new cultures. This experience was truly a gift. Walk into this lovely home and be hosted by an Italian couple who has deep rooted history in the food industry. They are a delight! Oh and the food… absolutely outstanding. You will cherish this opportunity for years to come.
Our hosts were very warm and welcoming and included us in the cooking of the meal. Food was delicious and represented some typical cuisine of the Piedmont Region. Based on our experience with Rosanna and her partner, we would do this again.
The chef/host if this cooking lesson in Torino (Alberto) put careful planning and excellent hosting skills into this delicious 3 course dinner with dessert. We made ravioli and tiramisu together. His explanations were clear. We sat down to a fine lunch with selected regional and family specialties with wine. I strongly recommend this experience especially for couples who like to cook. Although my Italian was not up to the test, his English was excellent so we had a lively conversation about a broad range of topics. Bravo!
My friend and I are Canadian and are spending some time in Torino. We signed up for a dinner with Eugenia Ienni here and it was excellent. Her husband, her son and his girlfriend were also present. We had requested an English speaking host as our Italian is not strong. The son was an able translator. The family was very welcoming. Eugenia showed us how to make tagliatelle which we ate for our pasta course with a meat sauce after an appetizer of grilled peppers with a sauce of anchovies, capers, pine nuts and parsley. Our main course was breaded veal cutlets with red onions and a zucchini side dish, Dessert was a fruit based zabaglione. All courses were delicious, We had bubbly white wine pre dinner and red wine with dinner. All in all it was a delicious dinner and a very comfortable fun evening. I highly recommend this experience,
It was a wonderful experience to cook with Rosanna. We hade a great lunch with good food. Best regards from Malmo Forza MFF
