Sylvia was amazing from start to finish. We had a private cooking class. We went to the local market to get fresh ingredients to make amazing bruschetta, asparagus ravioli, and a wonderful dessert that I cannot recall the name of. It was all fabulous!
Assunta was warm, welcoming and light-hearted. It felt like being among old friends. We took a brief tour of Lucca, shopping for a few local ingredients for our lunch meal. Her daughter, Letizia, spoke excellent English and had a great sense of humor. The home was charming and inviting and all the food was delicious and authentic. Would highly recommend!
Once in a lifetime experience. We met at her house, shopped at local markets and then went to her lovely apartment for a meal.
This experience was MORE than we expected. Silvia was not only a gracious host, she was also a knowledgeable and good teacher, and thoroughly delightful to be with. She adjusted the menu to accommodate the seasonal foods available and our tastes. Our time with her in her lovely home and the simple but delicious food we prepared with her may well be the highlight of our time in Lucca. Thank you, Silvia! We won't stop singing your praises for a long time.
This was a truly fantastic class with Silvia! She was absolutely wonderful and we had the best time. My son, 10 yrs, especially loved every part of it - from the market stops to the pasta making to eating the fruits of our labor! So glad we spent our morning making a delicious meal with Silvia. Tip: If given the dessert option, choose the zabione!
Our group of 5 all really enjoyed the total experience. Sylvia was knowledgeable and hospitable and gave great insights into the local cuisine and life in Lucca. We all particularly loved the market shopping.
Sylvia was wonderful. I would highly recommend the experience. She gave us lovely home cooking recipes that will be easy to replicate at home.
We thoroughly enjoyed going to the food markets followed by cooking (and eating) with Silvia in Lucca! We intentionally arranged this class at the very beginning of an extended stay so we would know the best markets and have ideas where to go. It was perfect! We highly recommend this experience and especially recommend Silvia as a welcoming host, teacher, and friendly person.
Sylvia was wonderful speaks great English. She has a beautiful apartment in the middle of Lucca. We went to the market and back to the house and made 3 great dishes.
It was truly a pleasure spending the day with Monica and her husband. Our group thoroughly enjoyed our pasta making and enjoyed the foods Monica prepared. She was such a delight! I would highly recommend this activity! The only negative I have was that there was no Market tour, which is how it was advertised with "Get Your Guide", but that was no fault of Monica's. She was simply the best!
