Besuchen Sie Volcan Wines und sein Weinmuseum in Vothonas, Santorini, an der Straße zum Kamari Beach. Das charmante Familienunternehmen wird seit 1880 betrieben. Während moderne Edelstahlmaschinen traditionelle Holzwerkzeuge ersetzt haben, werden die Weine immer noch im klassischen Stil hergestellt. Die Anlage verfügt über ein beeindruckendes unterirdisches Museum, das sich 8 Meter unter der Oberfläche befindet und 300 Meter lang ist. Anhand lebensechter Exponate, Animatronik und einer automatisierten Audiotour werden die Geschichte des Weins und das Leben der Bauern Santorins von 1660 bis 1950 präsentiert.

Das Weinmuseum befindet sich in einer natürlichen Höhle acht Meter unter der Erde. Es ist das einzige seiner Art in Griechenland und die Familie Koutsoyannopoulos, Winzer in der vierten Generation, brauchte 21 Jahre, um es zu bauen. Eintrittspreise 14 Euro pro Person inklusive Die Besucher des Museums haben die Möglichkeit, die Geschichte des Weins und das Leben der Winzer auf Santorin seit den 1660er Jahren durch einen automatischen Audioguide in 14 Sprachen oder einen Reiseführer in 22 Sprachen kennenzulernen. Am Ende der Tour stehen Weine aus dem Weingut Koutsoyannopoulos zur Verkostung im Verkostungsraum des Weinguts zur Verfügung.

Wir holen Gäste von allen Santorini Hotels, Ferienwohnungen, Villen usw. ab. Wenn das Hotel aufgrund von Einschränkungen nicht mit unseren Fahrzeugen erreichbar ist, findet die Abholung vom nächstgelegenen Abholort zu Fuß statt. Für Reisende, die mit Kreuzfahrtschiffen anreisen: Treffpunkt ist immer die Bergstation der Seilbahn. Auf alle Reisenden, die die Tour von der Flughafen-, Hafen- und Seilbahnstation aus beginnen, wartet ein Mitglied unseres Teams mit einem Schild mit Ihrem Namen darauf. Alkoholische Getränke sind nur für Erwachsene erlaubt.

Very nice visit followed by a tasting of excellent wines. An astonishingly dense museum; explanations about the unique viticulture techniques of Santorini. Our tasting guide, Angela, was lovely and shared many restaurant recommendations on the island with us.
The Cave museum is self guided with audio devices rather than a tour, which is why I gave it a 4 instead of 5. If you love antiques and winemakers history, this is an interesting walk through. Wine tasting after the tour was fun and interactive. A nice way to use 2 hours in Santorini.
At the end of April 2026, we didn't need to book. Coming from Fira, this is the road to the airport. The museum is about 2 km away. The KTEL bus can drop us off on request, if not too many people. Several tasting packages of good local wine, of choice. Very clean, well organized, fun and informative museum. Very welcoming and professional staff. It's worth a visit and we can ask for a taxi back...
This tour is a must do! The way the museum is layed out provides a visual lens of how wine production was made and the transition from primitive to modern production. The wine tasting was also a good touch to cap off the tour. Delicious!
This was very informative, the wine was good, but pretty short. You were also your own tour guide, with speaker. Could have been better, but not bad.
We did the self guided tour of the museum which gave us the opportunity to go at our own pace. The wine tasting was good. The only negative is that we weren’t sure when and how to be picked up once completed. I called the Viator company and they had someone come quite quickly which was nice.
Base price was €20 per person for entry, no discount for older Australians, didn’t go in. One good note, is that the local bus that runs between Fira and Kamera beach will drop you almost 100 m flat walk, cost for the additional stop is another €1.60 one way per person.
