Machen Sie eine oder beide Seiten, für die Wanderung können wir uns in der Kolonialstadt treffen oder die Abholung arrangieren, indem Sie uns eine Nachricht schreiben. Casco Antiguo de San Felipe ist der Ort, an dem 1673 die neue Stadt Panama gegründet wurde (das 350-jährige Jubiläum war 2023), die nur 5 Meilen südwestlich von dort gebaut wurde, wo die erste Stadt (Panama Viejo archäologische Stätte) nach den Bränden, die von den spanischen Kolonialisten selbst ausgelöst wurden, in Trümmern lag, um die strategische Position zu retten, die für den Welthandel seit der Entdeckung des Pazifischen Ozeans im Jahr 1513 von entscheidender Bedeutung ist, und um den Zusammenbruch des spanischen Reiches genau dort zu vermeiden und dann, zum berühmtesten Piraten der zweiten Hälfte der spanischen Kolonie, ihre Feindin, die den Angriff "Rogue" im Jahr 1671 befehligte: Captain Henry Morgan. Beide gehören zum Weltkulturerbe der UNESCO.

Wir beginnen zu Fuß zu den Hauptplätzen und dem Stadtzentrum der Gegend von San Felipe, wenn wir beide Stätten in Ihrer Tour haben, werden wir die Highlights von San Felipe für etwa 1 Stunde abdecken, bevor wir zur archäologischen Stätte Panama Viejo gehen.
Wenn wir die Avenida "A" (Ave.) entlang gehen, halten wir an der St. Josephs-Kirche, wo wir einen Blick auf den Goldaltar und eine Weihnachtskrippe werfen können, die sich in der 1675 gegründeten spanischen Kolonialkirche befindet. Wir werden auch anhalten von der Society of Jesus Ruins (Jesuitenmönche) und den flachen Bogenruinen (von den Franzosen als Beweis dafür verwendet, dass Panama für die Wasserstraße geeignet war, die sie bauen wollten).
Auf der B Avenue besuchen wir die Kirche und das San Felipe Neri Oratorium („Kreuzgang“) für die Barmherzigen Schwestern, die sich rund um die Plaza Bolivar befinden.
Sobald wir die Avenida B (Ave.) hinaufgehen, werden wir zum Hauptplatz der historischen Stadt San Felipe, Casco Antiguo, Republik Panama, gehen, die genau vor der Basílica Metropolitana Santa María La Antigua ( Der Bau begann im Jahr unseres Herrn 1688 und wurde 108 Jahre später im Jahr 1796 geweiht), wo wir einige der Reliquien und Traditionen sehen werden, und um dann die Central Avenue hinaufzugehen, wo wir während des Spaziergangs Spuren der alten Trolley sehen werden hinaus in Richtung der Kirche Unserer Lieben Frau der Barmherzigkeit am Eingang der Stadt.
Und wir beenden unsere Tour mit einem Spaziergang an dem Ort, an dem die Tore zur Stadt die Bürger nach Hierarchie trennen würden, was bedeutet, dass die europäischen Siedler und die in der neuen Welt geborenen Spanier das Recht hatten, innerhalb dieser Grenzen zu leben, und die Eingeborenen, Indigenen und Schwarzen draußen in den Vororten ("los arrabales") lebten, dann kehren wir zur Plaza Herrera zurück, wo die Tour begann, um die Gäste abzuschicken, die die optionale Variante * "Ruined City Tour" gebucht haben.

Alex was an absolutely fabulous guide! He has a vast amount of knowledge about the history of Casco Antiquo and was very generous in sharing lots of interesting stories about the buildings he was showing us! We covered a temendoud amount of ground in 3 hours - but he really paced us well and welcomed all our questions! We learned so much from him! And we had a renewed appreciation for both the ruins and all the restored buildings!

The Richard was extremely informative and I learned so much about Panamá. I was solo on trip and felt safe. I would have liked to see more places, but the weather made it more difficult because I don’t really want to be outside in the rain. He did a good job of finding indoor locations and helped me take lots of pictures. We did see many historical sites.

Richard was a very knowledgeable guide and did a fantastic job at giving us a an experience of the rich history of this amazing city. There was a fair amount of walking at a comfortable pace, but no one even seemed to notice because there was so much to see and hear about. When we finished, Richard recommended a restaurant for us to have lunch. It was the best meal we had the entire month we were in Panama. My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Alex as our tour guide! He is very friendly, knowledgeable, charismatic and engaging. He took us through some of the most interesting parts of Casco Viejo and at the end, we ended up booking yet another tour with him. Alex was great, he picked me up at my hotel at 6:30am and took me to a local coffee shop. From there we drove an hour to catch a boat out to monkey island. It was just he and I on the boat which was awesome because all the other boats were packed. From there he offered to show me the Panama Canal but I didn’t have an interest so he drove me back to Casco and gave me a walking tour and showed me a great place to grab a bite to eat. Incredibly friendly and willing to go the extra miles. Literally!
