Faycel was an amazing tour guide! We saw so much and learned so much. The tour was seamless and fun - including pickup and drop off at our hotel. We had the best day!
The guide was not good at all. Tried to rush and showed all places only after I insisted that we really wanted to see them. The car did not pick is up at the hotel as was agreed, we had to work more than 1 km to catch it. The t was 117 F outside.
The driver and guide were terrible. The guide didn’t know the way. Was looking at his phone for directions. The guide had limited content. He was talking to the driver 90% of the time in Arabic. Walking through Medina the guide was on his phone. They both had a far more limited itinerary than I had from viator. During lunch I felt like the guide was flirting with me and I felt very uncomfortable. Car was a small skoda. No leg room No water although it was 40 * Claudio was guide. Spoiled the day.
In Egypt, the Viator tour had two meetings, but I was worried because it didn't go well, but the guide was relieved to be in the hotel lobby on time. The guides are also very friendly and proactive in speaking to you. Knowledgeable and detailed in the destination. It takes time to explain around without cutting corners, so it may be difficult for those who want to go around quickly. But it's a good guide.
We booked it via TUI rep a day before. We paid £61 each. Prompt hotel pick up at 08:00, drop off at 17:00. Big coach, full capacity. Not very long drive. Nice knowledgable guide spoke Arabic/English/French & German. Carthage is beautiful with magnificent views. Restaurant also had beautiful views and nice open buffet lunch. Sidi bou Sid is very pretty. The Museum though was my cup of tea.
I can only give this a 3 star rating as I'd booked this as a private tour through TripAdvisor, yet the local company used (Sahransky) included an additional person to our car. This meant we wasted quite a bit of time going to find the person in Tunis after we'd arrived from being picked up in Hammamet. The guide was good and we had a decent amount of time in the Bardo Museum to see the many mosaics being displayed with excellent descriptions of the important pieces. We also had an additional stop at the American war dead cemetery, which was interesting. Unfortunately we couldn't get round all the sights of Carthage due to the time issues and eventually got back to Hammamet at almost 8 pm. The driver and guide were good.
I enjoyed a wonderful trip with Chakib acting as my driver. The choice to opt for a driver-only service suited me perfectly as it allowed me to explore freely. Chakib was prompt in responding to my queries and offered interesting insights into the areas through which we traveled. This added a nice element to our interactions. The service, from pickup to drop-off at our hotel, was smooth. His food recommendations were perfect, ensuring my comfort. Chakib was punctual, professional, courteous, and friendly - a pleasure to interact with. He would often provide useful tips about the areas after dropping me off. His communication was effective, keeping me abreast of his location at all times. The vehicle was clean and in good condition. Adnens presence, I believe, made a significant difference in my trip experience. The trip was enjoyable largely due to Chakib's contributions. I recommend Chakib highly as a driver.
The tour operator ghosted. No call, no show. No one answered at any of their 3 numbers and aviator couldn’t reach them, either. Avoid
The driver and guide were punctual and professional , however the sites visited have no interest except Sidi Bousaïd which remains a pleasant site in the eyes . The visit to the Bardo Museum in Tunis was included but as it was Monday it was closed and was not replaced by anything else. Honestly dear day for what it is...
I was able to see all the top sights of Tunis in one day. My driver was great, pointing out all the points of interest along the way. I thoroughly recommend this tour , I had an amazing day.
