We had a wonderful time hiking Caminito del Rey. We enjoyed being in a small group, which made it easier to ask questions and keep the hiking at a quicker pace. I would definitely recommend this hike to anyone interested in exploring this beautiful area.
We met our guide Alfonso at the designated meeting place just outside the old town of Malaga. Our small group of 8 people drove to Caminito del Rey with Alfonso giving us information and answering our questions. Once we arrived, we were given hard hats and a short introduction by one of the camp personnel. It was a 7.7 kilometer hike on a combination of mostly suspended-one-meter-wide wooden planks above the most stunning crevices and canyons and streams, a few stairs, a couple of intimidating hanging bridges, some gravel walkways and the most spectacular views! During this 2-hour hike, Alfonso made sure we were all doing just fine. He made us stop several times to catch our breath, drink water and take photos along the way. Once we reached the base, Alfonso prepared our picnic of cheese, ham and bread. Walked back to the parking lot then drove back to Malaga. I highly recommend this tour for families, friends, couples and even solo travelers. Gracias Alfonso!
Alfonso was a wonderful guide . This tour is suitable for people of moderate fitness … you and older
Had a fantastic time with our guide Alfonso hiking the Caminito del Rey! My wife and I are 64 and 66 years old respectively and we were worried when we originally booked the tour that we would be slower than the rest of the group and hold everyone back. Malaga Activa Tours assured us that there would be no problems, that the tour has everyone walking at a comfortable leisurely pace. They were true to their word and we had a great hike along with six others and our guide for a total of nine people. The weather was perfect and the day was topped off by a wonderful picnic lunch provided by Alfonso at the end. If you are in Malaga we would definitely recommend the Caminito del Rey Small Group Tour from Malaga with Picnic by Malaga Activa Tours rather than trying to arrange everything on your own.
Amazing 7 km walk through canyon. Not scary but impressive. Tour guide was just ok. Not personable. Certainly recommend the activity.
Highly recommend this small group vs over a large bus. The tour goes at a good pace not too slow or fast. The guide is very friendly and knowledgeable
A fantastic experience that’s well worth doing, particularly if you haven’t done it before. Make sure to wear comfortable trainers and be prepared for plenty of walking. Our guide was very knowledgeable and led the group at an enjoyable, steady pace. Overall, it was a great day out and one I’d happily recommend to others.
Alfonso is propabely the best guide we had! Speaks english fluently. It was really good with a small group. He knows everything about Camino del Ray and gave us great tips in Malaga. I really do recommend this tour!
Beautiful experience Super guide Beautiful views The site is truly worth it; I recommend it to everyone if you are not afraid of heights.
We really enjoyed our guided walk/hike. It was about 5km total distance through 2 river gorges. Spectacular views as we walking on those narrow sidewalks hanging over the water. We felt very safe and enjoyed our picnic lunch after the walk. It was about an hour drive from Malaga.
