Our tour guide Stacy was amazing! She took us to all the sightseeing in Calgary. On top of that we got to work out.
My husband and I did the 3-hour bike trip with our guide Stacy on Friday September 4 for the 9:30 am tour. Check in was easy, Stacy was fantastic and clearly loves her city. A few notes: the trip details online are a bit outdated. There IS a bathroom you can use at the Toonie Tours location and they give you a bottle of water. Stacy did NOT take us inside the Chinese Cultural Centre/Museum (which frankly would’ve wasted biking time). We saw a lot of the city. Terrain is mostly flat except at the end there is quite a steep hill at the end for a great overlook So keep that in mind in choosing e-bike v regular. Short enough of a hill to walk it up though. Be prepared for the weather to change multiple times during the ride (it’s Calgary!!). So I suggest bringing rain gear
It was a really fun Bike Tour. We saw some really pretty parts of Calgary along the river and got information about how the city was settled and about some of the buildings. Jorge was great. The tour I was supposed to be on got canceled (1:30) because there weren't enough people and so they emailed me to see if I wanted to go in the morning instead. It turned out to be much better because it wasn't as warm in the morning. They have e-bikes but there's a surcharge. The other people on my tour managed just fine without it. We stopped at a really good ice cream/coffee shop called Aporentice.
A fun way to see and get to know Calgary! My guide Caitlyn was so friendly and knowledgable with all the great local tips.
Helpful and kind operators. The best and fun way to see Calgary. I liked it a lot.
I was part of a tour group that stopped in Calgary. As we were in Calgary for a short period of time, this tour was an ideal way to see Calgary. Over the course of the morning, we cycled around several areas of Calgary, with breaks available so that our guide could talk to us about important areas of the city. Our guide was attentive to the group and ensured the best use of our time. As there doesn’t seem to be hop on hop off buses in Calgary, I would recommend this cycling tour to anyone new to the city.
We always book city bike tours when we visit a new city and have always had excellent tours---until this one. Either Calgary is a very uninteresting place or our guide made it seem so. He was neither personable nor well-versed in Calgary history, culture, or interesting tidbits. At times, he had to read from a prepared script. It was a tortuous 3 hours. Perhaps our guide was a rookie, but he was not ready for prime time. At least the weather was beautiful that day.
Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. We’re really sorry to hear your tour was such a disappointing experience. We know when you book a bike tour, you’re hoping to learn something new, hear some great local stories, and have a fun few hours exploring the city. It sounds like we missed the mark on all three. Your comments about the guide’s knowledge, personality, and reliance on a script are especially concerning, and we’ll be taking that feedback seriously with our team. Calgary has plenty of history, stories, and interesting places to share, so it’s disappointing to hear that your tour didn’t leave you with that impression.
Tas and Stacey did an awesome job showing us the city of Calgary. We used the e bikes and they were easy to use, as we had never rode on one before. I would recommend taking this tour for anyone interested in learning more about Calgary and getting a close up view of the uniqueness of this town.
Our Tour Guide was Ross and he did an excellent job. The description of the event was as described. It was a wonderful tour on well-maintained bikes that lasted three hours. We stopped at various areas and got a little history. I highly recommend this for exercise, wonderful views and information about Calgary.
Great way to experience and learn about Calgary’s key sites with history and context for first timers to Calgary
