Naturpark Cabo DE Gata von Roquetas, Aguadulce & Almeria

The mermaid reef housed a colony of the monk seal in ancient times, thousands of specimens. When Omero mentioned the mermaid song he meant the noise they had to make, he crudely describes them as animals with fins like fish but that suckled their young and mentions them as half woman, half fish, so passes the myth from one seaman to another until someone draws what we have now imagined by tradition. So here we have the myth embodied in its original sense in the Mermaid Reef from which it takes its name, it's not just because its volcanic rocks are shaped like seals. It is undoubtedly a mythical site with a special charm to visit.

Visit to places of interest in the morning (viewpoints and salt flats) and free time (beach) from 14:00 to 17:00 h

Fantastic excursion. The guide knew a lot about the landscape, the vegetation, the changes caused by climate change, for example. We had a small bus and could therefore also get to places where the big bus does not go. Beautiful coastlines seen and nice fishing villages.

The Guide, Christian, wonderful and professional but at the same time with a personal touch that raised the experience to a higher level. Always friendly and communicative, he took us around the area and told us many things that made the visit very pleasant and endearing. It is fully recommended

My husband and I did the Cabo de Gata tour, from Almeria City, on 3rd July. From start to finish our guide/driver - Christian - was so informative and considerate, making the entire trip a real highlight of our holiday. To see so many places, to learn so much about each - including history, geology and the current management of this vast area - and to enjoy blissful sunny coastal visits made the entire adventure incredible. Great landscapes. I recommend boat trip from San Jose to enjoy the views and its volcanoes, well worth it. Jorge from Roller Company told us everything we saw. We really enjoyed it.

In summer it must be fantastic. We went in January but the natural surroundings and the lighthouse have their charm. It has a large beach.

Christian is an excellent guide. His knowledge is amazing and he really made the adventure special. If you are in Roquetas de Mar, call Pepe Tours and make sure it's Christian as the guide and you will have an incredible time.
