Reiseverlauf

We had an amazing tour with Ferenc! He is incredibly personable and our time with him felt like hanging out with a good friend. He guided us on a very memorable journey of Budapest, sharing information about the city's history, culture, architecture, and much more. The depth and nuance of the information he provides paints a deeply meaningful picture of the city and Hungary more broadly. We loved the personal anecdotes he shared and the humor and charm that he effortlessly weaves into conversation. Ferenc's tours are truly special and are a must do when you visit Budapest!
Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and easy-going. We had a break in a beautiful coffee house and strudel which was absolutely fantastic. Try the poppy seed one!
A huge big thank you to Budapest Urban Walks for making our trip to Budapest such a memorable one. We booked 4 private tours in total Ferenc, Odea or Endre were excellent in every way, they were prompt, knowledgeable and personable which made our tours very interesting and fun, their enthusiasm for Budapest was evident and we learned so much from them. The tours were very well paced and we enjoyed the coffee/tea and cake stops along the way. Budapest is such a beautiful place and in our eyes Budapest Urban Walks are the number one company in Budapest when it comes to booking guides, highly recommended. Thank you Henrietta for your airport service and immaculately clean mini bus. Finally, a big thank you to Ferenc for sorting out tickets for the Gellert Baths, Legenda Cruise & House of Terrors for us, we enjoyed our little gifts too, very much appreciated.
I was fortunate enough to spend a few hours with Ferenc, walking around the city, engaging in friendly but stimulating conversation about its past while visiting historical sites. It was exactly what I was hoping for. Budapest Urban Walks were perfectly responsive, reliable and all-round professional throughout our interaction. I recommend them and their services unreservedly.
A wholesome experience! I personally had been to Budapest twice already and thought I’ve seen “it”. But this tour definitely showed me a lot of new things and got a handful of tips too from the tour guide - really kind and professional.
I went to Budapest in late February and booked with Budapest Urban Walks. I had an amazing time with the guide, who was easy-going and very flexible. I ended up being the only participant due to the weather so I basically got my own private tour. I’m a hobby photographer so the guide made sure that we covered the most spectacular sights and hidden gems where I could indulge in my passion. I highly recommend this company!
Our amazing guide Odea took us on a three hour walk around this great city. She was very informative telling us about the history of the city from its creation to modern day. We visited the Jewish district and visited a “Ruin” bar which we loved! She tailored the tour to our needs as we had already done a lot of sightseeing on our own. She pointed out so many hidden artefacts such as the tiny statues and the wonderful street paintings. We also did a three hour tour with a driver the following day. Again Odea’s knowledge was outstanding and we learnt so much! She was great fun and obviously loves her city and this enthusiasm rubbed off on us! We will definitely be back and highly recommend booking a tour.
My husband, and me booked two tours with Urban walks -Ruins and Bars, and Budapest Urban Walk. By coincidence we were the only ones taking the group tours on that day so it was like a private tour! We really appreciate that Urban Walks did not charge us extra and still gave us a great time. The pick ups, the drop off, schedules, etc went so smoothly. These walks were definitely the highlight of our trip! Reka was our guide for the Budapest Urban Walk. She is so passionate about her city. She gave us a wonderful insight into the history of Budapest, also told us a lot of fun titbits. We had an amazing coffee and pastry stop in between the tour We went back there twice!). Before we knew it 4 hours were up! We were sad to see her go! Also Reka gave us recommendations to superb restaurants, cafes, even baths (we did gellert) and cruises (legenda evening cruise). It's like she had our back throughout the trip. Our guide for the Ruins and Bars tour was Andrew. He was so much fun and easy to be with. He took us to unique bars that only a local would know. We had amazing crafted beers, liquors, food (must try Langos) and conversation! Egeszegedre! If anyone is looking for these kind of activities in Budapest just go with Urban Walks blindly, they are simply the best!

In spite of the inclement weather the tour was enjoyable. Reka was great and showed around the main attractions of the Pest side. This is a must do and do it on the first day.
