Reiseverlauf

Such a great experience! George and Paula were absolutely wonderful! Great food spots and delightful finds! Such a delightful couple of hours! Highly recommed this
This was Paula’s first time giving the tour and she was fantastic. This tour is must do for anybody that wants to try the Hungarian cuisine. The Central Market tastings of pickles, strudel and meats were amazing. They also took us to a non tourist place to try the langos with cold traditional beers. Finally, we went to an off the path non tourist restaurant for wine, goulash and Hungarian pancakes. I can’t say enough about Paula and George and the food tour. Must book.
This is by far one of my favorite food tours ever. George is so friendly and knowledgeable, and his food choices are absolutely delicious—local vendors paired with George’s historical and social stories made this a perfect day! Thank you!!!
Fantastic tour, George was an amazing guide and very knowledgeable about food and the Hungrey history
George is a good guide. Content of the tour was OK, and the food tasted was authentic I think, but not sure if it is good value for money.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and for your kind words about me as a guide. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't feel the tour offered the value you were expecting. In the 2–2.5 hours we spend together, I try to fit in as much of Hungarian food culture as possible, while also sharing the history of the city and the stories behind the local family-run businesses we visit. During the tour, we enjoy a variety of authentic Hungarian specialties, including local cold cuts, pickled vegetables, lángos, traditional beef goulash, chimney cake, strudel, pancakes, locally produced wines, Hungarian beer, and our traditional fruit brandy, pálinka. I hope you enjoyed experiencing these flavors, even if the overall experience didn't fully meet your expectations. Thank you again for your honest feedback. I'm always looking for ways to improve, and I hope to welcome you back to Budapest one day. Safe travels! George
We enjoyed our experience. We got to try a lot of different Hungarian foods, the tour was very organized & I love how George made it a mission to support family-owned businesses. He even had cold water bottles ready for us which was very thoughtful considering how hot it was outside. Only thing that could've been better is that I do not eat pork and George was aware of this. He informed me before the tour began that there would be a substitution but when the time came for us to try the portion of the tour that contained pork, I never received a substitution. I was kind've waiting to see if I was going to get a different offering but never did so I was disappointed about that. Otherwise, we did enjoy it. It was unique. Also, the place we got Langos from set the bar very high.
Thank you so much for your kind review! I'm really happy to hear you enjoyed the experience, especially the variety of Hungarian food, the family-owned businesses we visited, and of course the lángos. I'm truly sorry about the pork tasting. That's on me. I think I miscommunicated that part at the beginning of the tour. Unfortunately, that's the one stop where I'm not able to offer a meat substitution, as traditional Hungarian sausage culture is almost entirely pork-based. I should have explained that more clearly, and I apologize for the confusion and disappointment. Thank you again for your honest feedback. I'm really happy you enjoyed the experience overall, and I hope to welcome you back to Budapest one day! George
very informative and tasty food tour with a very friendly, informative and helpful guide. We have done food tours in many places around the world and George’s tour was easily a top 3 tour!
George is a fantastic guide, his local knowledge is really interesting and helpful. This tour was the first thing we did when we arrived in Budapest and it was a great start to our visit with an introduction to the market and some history of the city. The tastings were all delicious and came with lots of information from George about how the food and drinks were made and where they came from. The group was small and it was easy to ask questions. Would highly recommend.
George was a wonderful host and gave us plenty of history about the city as well as inviting us to eat some great local foods. I always sign up to this type of your as I would never consider trying half the foods you get to sample on these tours. I had to pace myself not eating too much too early into the tour. Also great as a solo traveller to meet other people and hang out with a great group of people for a few hours
Great tour with George! We ate a lot and everything was delicious! George is very knowledgeable about the city and the local food
