Guide was no show in Bucharest and Viator company failed to respond to multiple communications to resolve failure.
Cristina was a fantastic guide. The knowledge of history was amazing and her added input on good locations to eat, shop, or visit were fantastic. The history is in not only from years ago, but new history about the revolution leading out of communism.
Beautiful old town, full of music venues, lovely facilities... lots of nightlife... lots of fun
Visited Bucharest during May, with a few friends. Weekend trip with mates, beats the expectation. So much do during the day and so much more to offer during the night. If feels like the old town never sleeps. We lived very central, about few mins walk from the old town. City has a lot to see, we didn't try to do too much, Took it very easy and covered a lot of main places by foot. Old town streets were buzzing even at 2am midnight. Lots of youngsters, will make you feel older :-) If you have time, wander out for a day trip to the famous dracula castle, hotel Transylvania. Won't be disappointed.
Fantastic tour. Just the 2 of us and our guide. She was very knowledgeable, kept the perfect pace, and since we had done a little touring the day before, adjusted the itinerary accordingly. Highly recommend. Budapest is beautiful!!!
Vlad our tour guide was very accommodating. We originally had a 1pm scheduled but did not realize how bad jet lag would hit us. He changed it to 5:30pm. It was a perfect time as the city comes alive at night. He was very informative and covered a good amount of history and ground and a very informative pace. I highly recommend!
We met at the fountains; piatsa unirii under the big clock. Ancha the guide gave us a short introduction to the history of Rumania and Bucharest. We learnt that 80% of the population belong to the Orthodox Chruch and that there are over 300 churches in Bucharest. Some of the churches were moved or destroyed during Ceaucescu time as well as apartment blocks to give space for his grand plans for the city. She showed us Manucs and Cara cu bere. It was good to get to know these places to come back for a good meal. She also gave us personal information how it is to live i Rumania today. The tour can be recommened.
Ana our tour guide was fantastic. Gave us lots of history and even gave me information about Romanian music that wasn't part of the tour, I just wanted to go record shopping! I wish I could remember the name of the cafe where we had lemonade, but I highly recommend the strawberry lemonade! The old city center of Bucharest is stone paved, so wear comfy shoes. The stones are sometimes loose, and you will be miserable if you just wear flats or flip flops.
Ana is a lovely guide. Her knowledge of history made the tour especially valuable. She also shared information about bands and restaurants we might like as we stayed in Romania.
An interesting city with decadent charm, full of young people and people ready to welcome you. A city often underestimated, which still suffers from the negative fame of the past, but which today is a suggestive destination to visit.
