Beschreibung

Amazing, recommend 1000%

Yara took care of 2 tours for us, everything was very clear and communication was easy and quick. She also shared great local restaurants and bars. For this tour, our guide Francisco took us to see and learn about the indigenous bribri people. He was extremely knowledgeable, English was faultless and he taught us everything about medicinal plants, local costumes and sacred cacao. Would recommend 1000%.

Authenticity and ethics

Great experience! One of the best tours I've ever done. Authentic and ethically acceptable. Our guide Francisco from Limón has a profound and very nuanced knowledge of Bribri culture. The place we visited is run from A to Z by the Bribri themselves. You benefit directly from the visits. The food was delicious. The waterfalls, like all the nature in Costa Rica, were very beautiful. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to learn about the indigenous culture of the country in a responsible way. 10/10

Here you can learn the Bribri way of life and prepare cocoa

A great experience. Getting to know the Bribri indigenous people. Francisco was a perfect guide. He explained everything wonderfully to us, responded to our questions and was very nice and open. We got to know many plants and once roasting and preparing cocoa ourselves was unique. Also the lunch, served in a leaf was very delicious. You can only recommend this experience to anyone.

A Can't Miss Experience!

If you’re coming to the Caribbean, you definitely have to do this tour — it’s the perfect mix of culture and nature. I absolutely loved it and 100% recommend it. Yara, the guide, has deep knowledge about the Indigenous people of the area, and on this tour, we truly got to do a bit of everything. My favorite part was learning how to make chocolate from scratch — and it honestly makes you feel so happy! We also learned a lot about medicinal plants, used them as natural makeup, and saw several types of frogs that are native to the region. We explored the Bribri Indigenous worldview and had a traditional meal in Oja, which I found amazing. After leaving the Bribri territory, we visited a waterfall. It was so refreshing and peaceful — the nature around was absolutely beautiful, and being in the water felt like a natural shoulder massage. Thank you, Yara! I hope to come back to the Caribbean soon

A deeply enriching experience in Bri Bri.

Spending the day in a Bri Bri household was one of the most enriching and eye-opening experiences I’ve had in Costa Rica. We learned about traditional ways of life, natural medicine, and many local plants and their uses. We prepared the cacao drink in the traditional way, it was delicious, especially served with boiled plantain. Understanding the deep connection between the Bri Bri people and the land, their cosmology, and beliefs was truly fascinating. We ended the day with a delicious traditional meal, eaten by hand on a banana leaf. Francisco’s storytelling was captivating, and his passion for preserving and sharing the Bri Bri heritage is contagious. You walk away not only having learned something new but feeling more connected to the earth, to ancestral wisdom, and to the importance of cultural preservation. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Caribbean side of Costa Rica.

A Truly Authentic and Unforgettable Experience with Yara

One of the most meaningful experiences we had in Costa Rica! Yara is an incredible guide – knowledgeable, warm, and deeply connected to the indigenous Bribri community she introduced us to. The traditional lunch was delicious, and learning about the culture felt truly special, not staged. You could feel the respect for nature and culture and authenticity of the place in every moment. The waterfall stop on the way back was the perfect, refreshing end to an unforgettable day. Huge thanks to Yara and the indigenous community for welcoming us - you’re offering something truly unique and powerful. We left with a big smile and enjoy looking back on those unforgettable experience now in our daily lives! Highly recommended!
