Der Norden Portugals ist grün, aber es ist auch Geschichte, Tradition und Moderne. Minho ist der Fluss, der an den Norden des Landes grenzt, aber auch das Land eines Weins, der nur einen grünen Namen hat und der denjenigen in Erinnerung bleibt, die ihn trinken. Um diese Region zu entdecken, muss man sich in Guimarães engagieren - einer Weltkulturerbestadt seit 2001 - mit ihrer symbolischen Burg und Wiege Portugals. Man muss durch die Straßen gehen und die Geschichte spüren. Es besucht Braga mit seiner Kathedrale und hat das Gefühl, dass auch die Römer dort vorbeikamen und Teil einer modernen Stadt waren. Es bedeutet, zur Bom Jesus Kirche zu gehen und sich geistlich in ihre Kapellen und Gärten einbringen zu lassen. Minho soll die Landschaft, die Geschichte, die Kultur, die Tradition und das portugiesische Wesen spüren.

Great tour to two charming, historic towns, even in the rain. Hugo is very welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, and a great driver. He knows the locals and the non-touristic routes. Be sure to try the banana and muscatel in Braga.

We spent a day with Ricardo, a very knowledgeable guide. Ricardo is a very courteous, affable person, attentive to the needs of his guests. He picked us up at the hotel, with a comfortable, clean car, with a bottle of water for each of us. Excellent vehicle handling. Be careful to propose breaks for breaks and need to go to the services. Ricardo was a wonderful guide for today's fascinating tour. He arrived on time in a high end vehicle and with plenty of cold water for a hot summer day. He is loaded with facts about Portugal's history and the history of the two cities we visited. He was respectful of my pace, attentive, thoughtful, and just a pleasure to spend the day with. We plussed up our experience with a traditional Portuguese lunch, for which he made an excellent recommendation. If I return to Porto he will be the first person I'll call for more city and surrounding area explorations. Highly recommended!

Our visit to the historical sites in Braga, with its many churches and peculiar character, and Guimaraes, the literal birthplace of this fascinating country was filled with interesting stories, great food and delightful company.
